I love the idea of this kit - use the plate to cover up the old hole, no matter how bad it was before. Just drill new holes!Good kit, but I ran into problems, which is why I removed stars.First you drill holes for the existing holes in the oval plate. I used tapcons because big holes for the yellow plug would be too close to the edge of the brick. After screwing in the tapcons, I marked holes for the faucet holding screws, and used the self-drilling screws to make the new holes. I did not account for the brick behind the faucet mounting holes. I could not see through the holes that did not exist, and did not realize there was brick behind because the existing hole for the faucet was rather large to begin with. Since I used tapcon screws, I felt like I did not want to remove them due to damaging the hole. I used the self drilling screw to cut the rest of the way through the brick behind the new hole, which went through the brick once I attached it to a hammer drill, but it also stripped the hole through the new oval plate so it would no longer hold the faucet tight. I have a few options for getting past this, such as drilling a tapcon hole, gluing a metal plate behind the oval plate, using a larger screw, etc., but PLAN AHEAD FOR THIS. THERE WERE NO WRITTEN DIRECTIONS, FYI. It seemed simple enough that it didn't need written directions.

When moving into our house, I noticed how sloppy the spigot was put on outside, huge gaps around it. This is perfect, it has everything you will need to install, and it takes like 5 minutes to do so. Add a bit of seal around it, and that gap is no longer a problem, plus the spigot is in there more sturdy now. If you need one of these, I can't find a reason not to buy this one.

This spigot mounting plate is well-made. Looks and feels very durable made of good quality metal. All dimensions are as advertised. Easy to install and protects the wall and makes the whole spigot set up look very nice. Very happy with the quality of this mounting plate!
