I installed this two days after receiving it. I thought that there was no problem until I attached the hose the stem leaks unless it is totally open, halfway it leaks. What is the problem and how to fix it?

One person below said this is not 4 inch, but the one I purchased is exactly 4 inch long, which is advertised.

I recently installed it without issue. It seems well made. I needed a 4" product, not always easy to find. I like the wider faceplate so the screws were further from the hole -- they had something to bite into.
