I tried a few different solutions because my dog was turning on the water and then not turning it back off. She thought it was a game and she loved this game. Unfortunately leaving my water on for hours floods into places that it shouldn't be so I got this lock hoping to deter her. It did the job.It fits under the winter protector socks too. But if you have the type of dog I have she just chew it off. You'll need a stronger sock but they do fit over.

Love this, now I don’t have to worry my water is being stolen. Tumbleweed cement truck in AZ had their hose hooked up to mine as I came home from shopping. They were pouring cement at the neighbors house, the idiot I yelled at said "I knocked at your door to ask but you weren’t home". Won’t know the damage till I get this months bill. My husband called the phone number on the side of the truck. The owner answered and said “we thought we would be finished before you got home“. Really so he admitted being a thief and a liar. This lock is a must have. The world is not the same as I grew up in. Get this!

I bought this after hearing there were some local kids going around and turning people water spigots on while they’re at work. It fits incredibly loose but it serves its purpose. I haven’t taken it off since installing it because I seldom use the water outside.
