Product Description

Hole Saw with Arbor
hole saw

The hole saw can be widely used for cutting thin metals, wood, plasterboard, plywood, ductwork, drywall, soft plaster, cornhole boards and plastic, good enough for the average DIYer and professional project.

6 1/4 inch hole saw

1. The hole saw can't make a hole in glass-ceramic concrete.

2. Don't touch the hole saw immediately after drilling the material because of the high temperature.

3. Add coolant or water and hold slowly when drilling metal.

4. Continue to drill slowly as the pilot drills through the material.

5. Stop drilling immediately if the hole saws work abnormally during operation.

6. Select a suitable speed when drilling different materials.

I ordered this to install ceiling lights into drywall. It works well and has no problem handling drywall. The hardest part is finding the ceiling joists so I don't try to drill a hole that overlaps with the joist.

This hole saw is a great value for size. Works as intended. Used for installing some recessed lights as well as building some for hole boards. Great value and glad it comes with the pilot bit for how cheap it is compared to big box stores.

Installing recessed lights required cutting multiple holes in drywall, and this tool made the job quick and easy. I simply attached it to my drill and positioned it where needed, and it did the work efficiently. However, cutting too quickly caused the blade to overheat, which raises concerns about its long-term durability and sharpness. While it may not be the best option for frequent use, it’s a handy tool to have for occasional projects as long as you take your time to prevent overheating. Overall, it’s a solid choice for a few-time use.

First off, make sure you doublecheck what size you need. Some 6" can lights require a 6-1/4" hole and this will be too small (there is a 6-1/4 version too).I only used this on drywall, and had no issues. It puts a lot of torque on the drill due to the size, so be prepared. It's also a bit tough to get the bit back unscrewed after using it, but you don't have to unless you want to compact it for storage. The extra bit and allen key to secure it was nice.

Easy to use, cut 3 holes in 5/8" OSB. Has not shown signs of accelerated ware.

Cutting a 6" hole in wood can be an arm wrenching experience so definitely use caution but that is just the nature of the job, not of this particular hole saw. It worked well through 3/4" pine and I appreciated having the extra centering bit.

I've been fixing up my powerboat. Part of that included installing a new bluetooth stereo system with 6-inch speakers.I got this hole saw for that. With it, I was able to cut perfectly round, smooth-edge holes for the speakers. The saw easily cut through the fiberglass and then plywood. I pressed lightly on the drill at first, not wanting to send fiberglass chips flying. Once I was gently through that layer, it was easy-peasy to cut through the wood. The speakers were an easy install into the holes, and their grill plates covered the hole edges.

It definitely takes a little skill to make sure you're keeping fully vertical while using this and not angling it, and it's very much a tool to not get too hasty with--slow and steady! But it's a great little saw for perfect circles. Very sharp.
