Receive this today and was very disappointed. Item wasn’t even in Shimano packaging, came in a generic brown box. The shifter was greasy with signs of use. And to top it all, it doesn’t work. Was probably a defective item that was returned.

Super satisfied with this shifter. Shifting to harder gears is tougher than my Deore shifters I'm replacing, but I'm happy with the surefire feel of it. No guessing! Just what the doc ordered, precise shifting!

as of the time of this review, the model number listed in the title of this is "SL-M8100-L" but the description also says "right clamp-band". The right shifters are actually model SL-M8100-R which is what I needed. I took a gamble and ordered assuming the model number was incorrect in the title but it was a right-shifter and I was right. The model number on the box indicates it's an M8100-R. Taking off one start for that unnecessary confusion. As far as the shifter, everything I needed was in the box - in addition to the shifter it had the cable attached, the cable housing (which I didn't use) as well as the ends and the little crimp-on end piece. I've done this job before so had some experience, but it took less than 30 min to install and works well as an incremental upgrade on my polygon siskiu t8 without needing to upgrade the existing XLS cassette or derailer.

This item isn't described in full. What you get in the box besides the shifter; shift cable, cable housing and ferrules. I haven't had to replace a shifter in a few years but never had the housing included. I also took apart my failed shifter and once I got the case off I now understand what this item is pricey!

Shimano, XT SL-M8100, Trigger Shifter, Speed: 12 is the great shifter. I used it on my Xt 11-46T No any issue.

Replaced the stock deore that came with the bike. Game changer. The 2 up with one push is the best thing ever invented. For the money you can not beat this. Buy it now.

This item was my update to my SRAM 12 speed derailleur. I guess I was first introduced to Shimano and always liked the shifting with finders and thumbs. It is very smooth and I like the Shimano push two gear changes up. Easy to install and came with the full length cable and housing.
