As said by others, this is VERY poorly made. The hole won’t fit over the shaft of my high hat stand. Once I reamed that out, I found that it doesn’t actually release! This is not the it doesn’t release easily, it doesn’t release at all! Not with two hands and a lot of torquing and gymnastics. Look elsewhere, and good luck. This is money spent just to weigh down your garbage.

This thing is absolute crap. It came barely packaged. It was all beat up. It didnt fit on my cymbal shaft. The lever barely works. And it doesnt open enough to clip on the clutch. Luckily i work in a machine shop so i was able to fix it. I had to drill out the hole. Then i had to grind the lever so it could open enough. Then i had to completely buff the whole assembly. I inly did all this so i wouldnt have to deal with an over seas return. Save your money and order something else! 0 Stars!

It’s an ok product but the shaft diameter of my stand is too large for the bottom half of the clutch. Funny enough, it goes through the top just fine. It doesn’t work upside down though. I might try to drill it out because it’s hardly worth sending back.

you have to hit SUPER hard for the clutch to release, either the spring has too much tension of the mechanical joint is subpar. I do not recommend.

I bought this for obvious reasons. It was half the price of all others. That being said, I was excited to put this on my hihat, but immediate noticed that it would not drop the top cymbal when I pushed the lever. I examined and saw why. It has a couple of design flaws. I then took a black marker to a couple area's and had to grind a little metal down to make it work. It, for a shop guy with tools like myself, was not that big of a deal, but if you are not a DIY person, with an assortment of grinding tools, you are going to be disappointed. It works fine now after a 20 minute engagement with my skills and tools, but like I said... if you are not hands on, you will end up returning this. This is a simple fix that should be addressed by the manufacturer, but true to form by the 'people' who copy and knock stuff like this off, it always looks right, but 'never' performs right.

I bought a double base pedal and was looking for a simple low end clutch. In my application works ok, not a professional player. Wished it applied smoother. When engaging it has a rough feel and takes more pressure then what it seems it should. The quick release is smooth but I find that I need to hit the lever as well to engage in order to avoid the excessive pressure on the pedal.

For those who planing on to buy it, you should. But there could be a malfunction that can be an easy fix on the drop clutch. All you have to do when you get it set up, you have to constantly hit the lever hard to loosen up the springs because it’s bran new and the springs that’s never been used on it before that’s inside the drop clutch mech. You can hit it with your drum stick it just use your hand. It took me a while but it started to function properly

I wasn't sure if it would match the rod diameter of my DW and Yamaha hi-hat stands, but it did! Only thing, it took a little longer to receive (shipping) and I don't really know why.
