If you've wired these things in before, then you won't really be surprised by anything here. Installation was pretty straightforward. The controllers seem to have a good range.

I got these to replace the original Hampton Bay remotes on a matching pair of fans that were quirky from the beginning. These installed easily and work without any issues.

I got these so we would have the ability to use a remote for our older ceiling fans. I am not sure of the brand as they were here when we purchased our home but it fit perfect and works like a dream! It controls both the fan speed and lighting as it should. It did not cause any flickering of the lights and the remote works well even from across the room. Recommend! Great value for the cost!

This review is for the 2 Pack Universal Ceiling Fan Remote Control priced under $20 for 2 fans or $10 each. These worked with my Hunter fan. I used a volt meter to test the fan circuit for high, med, and low. The output from the controller changes the voltage. When you press low fan on the remote the fan starts at full voltage for a few second then drops voltage so the fan spins slower. Functions as it should and the circuit is protected by a built in 5 Amp fuse. I don't know if it works on all 120v ac fan motors but I would think it would work on most. The remote is nothing special but it's decent. Small buttons, small text and comes with a wall bracket.Seems like a 5 star product based on the price.

These are great remotes. A low cost solution for adding remotes to ceiling fans.First these do have a beep, which can be annoying. Every time you turn on the switch or the power goes out it beeps. However it can easily be muted.Press and hold the 8-hour timer button for 3-5 seconds until you hear the double beeps and that disables the beeps.Connectivity wise, the signal is strong, however they can depair easily. I add the pair procedure behind the battery compartment as these easily depair if you hold 2 buttons together for a few seconds or your kid accidentally sleeps on them. See manual for how to pair. However other than that they are a great set and help me sell houses! Every time I list a house for sale, I make sure to replace all the lights in each bedroom with a ceiling fan. People like fans and I add remotes for an extra touch! The controllers are a bit big and hard to hide in the canopy so make sure you buy fans with larger canopies or the "hugger" style of fans, which makes installing them a breeze. The only thing I do not like about these is the included wire nuts, they are not the best as sometimes they are defective and do not bite down on the wire. So make sure you get yourself a good quality wire nuts as it is a crucial step to ensure a long lasting connection.I love the timer function as every time I leave the fan on, I wake up with a stuffy nose, so I always put the timer to 2 hours and it turns off automatically.Overall a great value for the money as they are darn cheap, work good and last a long time!

If you're like a lot of people nowadays, you've got ceiling fans in most of your rooms to save on energy costs. With many fans comes many remote control units, and inevitably, one of them will fail. That's what's happened to us, and instead of just buying a single unit, we bought this two-pack so that we've got a backup for the "when" of failures. The PROS:1) A package of TWO remotes and controller units - so you've got a spare!2) The remotes even have a fan timer - perfect if you only like it to run for a few hours to cool you off as you're dozing off.3) Has all the other controls you'd expect - Lights on/off, low-med-high and STOP for fan control.4) Suitable for Hunter, Honeywell, and other brands of ceiling fans.5) Remote takes two AAA batteries.6) Has wall-mount brackets for the remote holders. The CONS:1) These units do NOT say that they will dim lights (not important for us, but may be a feature you require).2) Batteries aren't included for the remotes.3) The remotes only come in white (not a consideration for us, but it may not fit your home's aesthetic). We installed one of these already, and it went in without issue, and the fan controls work again. I'm pleased.
