It does what the ad said it would do. The only bad thing was how long it took amazon to ship.

I bought this to use my laptop with an older projector and it works very well. No issues at all.

This is a one way adapter so be sure to understand the difference. You have vga to hdmi and hdmi to vga. One direction will always need power so that is the best way to understand this. The direction requiring power is from vga to hdmi. But if you are going from an hdmi device like an iPhone or iPad or laptop and into a vga projector (lots of cheaper projectors still use vga) this will work. Otherwise you need the usb+vga to hdmi adapter. That said this worked exactly as I expected and had no issues. Build quality is great for the price point. Very easy to use and the adapter length is fine for any setup. Lastly, don’t blame the vendor on not understanding my first part of the review, understand what the difference is and you won’t have any issues.

HDMI to VGA Adapter, HDMIVGA Male to Female Converter with for Laptop Desktop PC PS3 PS4 Xbox 360 Wii U HDTV Monitor Projector Support 4K 1080PIt works well going from a PC graphics card to an older LCD monitor with VGA input (with matching cable). What I couldn't get going was using it with an HDMI switchbox. I'm not sure if the switchbox wasn't providing enough power or what. I had a similar problem with a Raspberry PI & a similar adapter. I ended up opening it up and wiring in a jack for an external DC power supply. They should think about having that in the design from the start. It would probably prevent a lot of product returns that weren't actually defective.

The ECKDZMY HDMI to VGA Adapter works very well. What you want is something that you can connect and forget, knowing that the connection is secure.I have a basic monitor that is perfectly good but it's older. It has a VGA connection. VGA is very good as they had two side screws to keep the connection in place. That's why I chose this: It had the ability to lock those set screws into place.First, I thought one side didn't work but then realized that it has to be firmly placed onto this adapter and then both set screws will lock into place, keeping that connection secure. The connection between the monitor cable is secure and the connection to HDMI fits very well. No problems with the monitor not getting a signal. It does have a short cable but really, you don't need a long cable. You need an adapter with a cable that takes you from point A to point B. This does this without adding additional cable clutter behind the (monitor) scenes.

Just plug it in and it worked. No drivers of anything. Great value for the money.
