I wish this unit was engineered smaller to facilitate installation but it does provide control as advertised.

I wanted to replace the original remote that came with this Hunter fan because it has a "safety" function that would turn on the lights after a power failure. Nothing like having your bedroom lights turn on fully in the middle of the night due to a power outage once the power was restored.Unfortunately, I ran into two issues. The first is that the receiver would not fit inside the fan's canopy. Now this may be more a function of my particular's fan construction, so this may not be a problem for all. But the second issue was the light function, there is no dimmer function. I have four 40W incandescent bulbs in my fan (well under the 300W max rating of the fan's remote-control receiver) and I could turn on and off the lights, but they would not dim. I would hold the lamp button on the remote and the LED on the remote would light and stay lit as long as I held the button, but the lamps would not dim, on or off only. The original remote control did dim properly. I need the dimming function, so even if I could get the receiver to fit, I couldn't use this receiver. The instructions that came with the fan, and the product listing both state that there should be a dimming function. From the listing, "this universal ceiling fan remote control kit with light dimmer."BTW, I did test if the remote stays off after a power failure. It remembers the last state it was in, so if the lights were on when the power went out, the lights will come back on when the power is restored. If the lights were off before the power failure, they stay off when the power is restored, so that is good. Too bad about the dimming function.

I've seen these before however I haven;t been able to find any locally. I added another ceiling fan to a different room and saw these and thought, sure, why not! This worked out well. These install was easy and didn't take long at all.

This is an excellent deal for getting a replacement remote control. You do need to hook up the transmitter or whatever that other part is to make it able to connect to the actual remote.

Universal fan remote kit. This will work with any fan. Simply wire it as the diagram shows and you will have an easy time adding a remote to your fan. Buttons are very clicky and easy to use. The transmitter fits easily into the slot above the fan. It's working as expected. There's no delay when you push the button for it to control the fan. Quality is good.
