I bought this thinking my receiver was bad and I wanted a match set incase it didn't work and it was both. It turns out just my remote was bad. After switching off power and using the new remote I was able to resync my remote and now all works well. I have the receiver as an extra incase it does fail.

My Altura 68" fan stopped working about three years ago and has just been a ceiling decoration since. We purchased a new fan, but before we installed it, I started surfing the internet. I don't know how I missed the article about the receiver going bad on this fan and that there was a redesigned receiver available. We purchased this receiver hoping it would work with our eight year old fan. It was super easy to install and the remote took no time to pair with the receiver. This little item saved us almost $200! I would give more than a five star if possible.

Was easy to install and had fairly easy instructions my only issue is that it seems the fan speeds are a little slower but this isn't a big deal. Happy to have my ceiling fan working after 2 - 3 years of not working.

I did not install my original fan. Therefore, I was not aware of how you must first program it when you flip the circuit breaker the very first time. If you naively reset your circuit breaker one day, your fan may simply stop working altogether and you will troubleshoot with a blindfold on.I ordered this and when I opened and read the instructions, I discovered I simply needed to reprogram my old remote and receiver. I did not have to install the new one at all! Now I have an extra one, ‘cause I think the seller is a good company doing a good business and they deserved the sale, not a Waste of all our time and money and effort in messing with a return. Good luck!
