Not being sure how dense a coverage I would get from one bundle I opted for the "two-pac" deal. I was only doing a stretch of about 1 foot wide and maybe 75 feet long along the roadside. The bundles are packed fairly dense and the texture is much finer than bundled straw. Kind of tough to spread with any kind of breeze since it is so light, but after finally getting it all spread out over the seeded area, I watered it in good to help with adhesion. It withstood a few light rains, and my daily watering, but a cloud burst washed most of it away. I used the second bundle over the once again reseeded area, and hoped for no more washouts for a week or so. Thankfully, after two weeks it's mostly intact and the grass has sprouted nicely. Overall worth the purchase, if real hay or straw isn't available.

I use this for my raised garden beds in the winter to protect my strawberries! Good insolation so hopefully my strawberries don't die due to the cold! This stuff is very compact, messy, but does the job!

This stuff works great to hold grass seed in place and to hold moisture. Seeds germinate way faster.
