After I returned from staying in a cedar cabin in the woods, I couldn't get the smell out of my head. Since I just re-did my plant beds and there is a definite manure scent floating around, I thought cedar would be the cure. Unfortunately, unlike other cedar mulch I have used, this brand does not smell as cedar-y as I wanted.It's very good mulch, don't get me wrong. It does what natural mulch is supposed to and helps retain moisture and improve the soil.But, for the price, I wanted it to smell a lot stronger.
