Originally saw this on TikTok. Mental Note.... Need one asap. Found this one and decided to give it a try. What a gamechanger! Why hasn't anyone come up with this before now? Its a bit that screws directly onto your grinder and quickly zips the mortar out from between the bricks. I used to use diamond grinding discs and change them about 10X a day. I've used this for weeks and its still like new. It works amazing on older mortar like lime mortar. It does bog down a bit on the newer cement mortars but it does work. This is a complete life changer for tuckpointing work. Thanks for a great product - well worth the cost!

Just what I needed, completely as described by the seller and the photos. Has a nice weight to it. Happy with this purchase.

Unfortunately I can't put this to the test.. For some reason my grinder does not have the standard 5/8-11 shaft..So all I can do is give my impressions. It seems well made, and fit a 5/8-11 bolt just fine. It appears to have carbide blades brazed on. I think It would work fine, but sadly I can't test it.

This review is for the LEKOMESH Carbide Brick Mortar Cutter - 10mm (3/8 Inch) Masonry and Mortar Rake/Router for Mortar Masonry Brick Removal, Mortar Raking Bit with 5/8-11 ThreadSIZE Diameter 3/8"(10MM). Total length 70mm; working length 25mm. 5/8-11 Thread.APPLICATION Effectively and quickly removes mortar from between masonry; can also be used to cut grooves in plaster or concrete walls (Foam Cement Brick).SPECIAL DESIGN】3 Carbide Cutting Edges provides neat cutting, longer service life.QUALITY Industrial-grade Tungsten Carbide and Steel Matrix. Strong abrasion resistance, high working efficiency, sturdy and durability.RECOMMENDED MACHINE Suitable for angle grinders. Recommended RPM: 6000, maximum RPM: 11000. It can be used wet or dry. Harder materials require water or coolant for use.My house is all brick on the outside and has several features that are brick on the inside. The masonry work done was immaculate. The gentleman that I bought my home from was a mason whose work was simply superb. However, the work was done in the late seventies and there are a few spots where the mortar has recessed and/or chipped.I ordered this tool to remove some of the old mortar. This version of the mortar cutter is mounted onto a hand grinder. There is another version available that mounts in a drill chuck. I will remove the old mortar and replace it with a product that is basically mortar in a tube and is applied with a common caulking gun. A little maintenance keeps the home value up and that's a good thing!I definitely recommend the LEKOMESH Carbide Brick Mortar Cutter from Amazon....

This LEKOMESH diamond mortar raking bit is really solid and is very robust and heavy duty. With its 10mm diameter and 25mm working length, it is perfect for cutting through mortar with ease. The M14 thread is a great feature too, making it compatible with many tools. It helps to effortlessly remove mortar and helps to cut grooves in plaster and even concrete walls.

After having my foundation repaired I had some stairstep cracks in the mortar of the brick exterior of my home which needed repointing. After trying several other types of carbide bits with my drill and dremel (successful, but slow and inefficient), I found this bit which fit perfectly on my angle grinder, making the work much less laborious. Definitely pleased.

Unfortunately I have to wait until the weather is suitable for mortaring to actually test this bit. That being said, what I can observe is that this bit seems to be sold by several different vendors on Amazon, and those other listings have some pretty negative reviews. However, those negative reviews are for the hex shank version and this type of bit really should be used with a tool that generates high RPMs (i.e, an angle grinder). So, I expect my results will be quite different from those using the hex shank version. Regardless, the price is reasonable enough, that even if it doesn't work as good as advertised, you're not out much cash.

I got to use this today since the weather was so nice. I put it on my angle grinder and slightly scaled off some mortar from between a few bricks on my house so I could install those mounting clips for brick walls without drilling holes. My mortar was all the way out to the edge so I needed to expose some. This worked really well and took only a few moments. It wasn't a whole lot admittedly, but it did make quick work of a tedious project. Now, I can do my project.I am happy with my order and I hope this was helpful. ✔️ Thanks!
