Use on rotary mode of your tool to prevent core breakage. Core bits are sold separately and still need the Center Pin, Guide Plate and Shank to get the most out of your bit. Bosch coring bits are made for through hole drilling applications in masonry and concrete.

One of the pictures showed the bit and mandrel that is what I thought I was getting. Sending it back now.

The teeth of the drill bit broke on its very first use when drilling through regular brick. Wondering if this was defective or it is just a bad product.

Make sure to pair with a bit. Bosch makes variations of this for all rotary drills. This is meant for a sds plus. I had concern that it would catch on an uneven edge of stone, dull, or crack the stone as it was never specified for such use. It cut through it perfectly. I had to use some sds chisels to pop out the core so I could keep coring. I suspected this would do the job as it was similar to other bits I use at work; however, gambling on a pricey bit and house wall concerned me. Worked great! I placed the vent in a smaller stone as requested against my caution that it might rip it apart since it was so small. It did not; however it did free it from the wall. I secured the stone when installing the dryer vent. Could probably drill most stone shapes, sizes, and arrangements just fine just make sure you have no electric in the wall.

Powers through block and brick walls like butter. Even though it isn’t intended for solid concrete, it does work. As long as you don’t drill rebar often this bit will last. Only complaint I have is the way the bits attach to the sds shaft, you have to change them out if the wall thickness changes much.

I own several of the Bosch Speedcore bits in various sizes. I use these for installing dryer vents and PVC furnace vent piping. This 4 3/8" is a fairly large diameter bit to be driven by the typical SDS-Plus tool. As others have said, be patient. Go slowly and let the hammer drill do the work. Regularly chisel out and remove the chunks of "core" from the hole you're drilling before they can break off and bind your bit. And I recommend adding some Never-Seize compound to the threads of the pilot bit so you can disassemble it later. If your project involves drilling dozens of 4 3/8" holes in thick or reinforced concrete, then buy or rent a water-cooled coring rig instead. But for lighter-duty use, this bit does the trick at a great price.

I used this to drill a hole through 70year old corncrete/rock mix foundation 10inches thick, imo the hardest thing to drill though. Used a horrible freight cheapo 10amp chicago electric 1-1/8 sds-plus rotary hammer which is probably the weakest SDS drill around. Took me about 75 minutes. hole was pretty clean. Ive done the exact same job before using a sds-max with the homeless despot rental bit and it was 3x faster but the rentals are just as much as buying this bit+core. I would only recommend if you already have an SDS-plus and only want to drill a hole once in a while and dont want to rent/buy a sds-max. Makes a lot of dust, so be sure to filter through a cigarette.

I drilled post holes in rock on a hillside with this. It worked really well. Just keep it wet for best cutting and cleaning. Have a hose nearby to spray both on your substrate and into this bit to clean out the dust and buildup. Also works well on cured concrete and it really makes quick work of stucco.Do note that Bosch bits have a different thread for the shaft to bit connection than the import brands. So be sure to match this up with a Bosch SDS shank/shaft unless you really know your thread sizes.

Works very well. After multiple uses no signs of wear. Used mainly on brick, and once through the brick, it goes right through the plywood.

I bought this one to drill through basement wall. The wall is build of block and with my new Bosch RH228VC 1-1/8-Inch SDS-plus Rotary Hammer set to drill and hammer, it was very easy to drill in once the hammer function kicking in. I did let it rest for about ten seconds once in a while but the bit only felt lukewarm after use.I was thinking about renting a more powerful drill from Homedepot but they didn't have long enough drill bit plus it even if they did I will cost me almost the same amount of money for only one hole.

I purchased this drill bit to dril holes thru 4" concrete slabs, 8" block walls & stucco to run 1 1/2" and 2" abs drain piping as well as copper water piping. Being a Plumber I often have a need to drill holes thru concrete to install pipe and this drill bit is much cleaner than a jackhammer creating a more professional looking job. I had no trouble drilling thru a 4" concrete slab using my Milwaukee 1 1/8" Fuel Cordless Hammer Drill. I simply drilled as deep as the bit would go, (about 3"), I then hit the concrete using a small sledge hammer to knock the plug out. Worked Great, leaving a perfect hole. Recommend

I needed to revamp my sump pump setup which required boring one hole in 12 inches of cinder block and brick to accommodate a 1-1/2 inch PVC pipe. My first instinct was to head to the big box rental center. As I already own a SDS-Plus drill, I would only need to rent the core bit. It turns out that all the rental centers that I went to only had this size core bit in either SDS-MAX or Spline drive standards (they were very well worn also) which required renting a SDS-MAX rotary hammer together with the bit. I was put off by the high price that it would cost me to only drill this hole. I declined and headed home, determined to find another way. Long story short, I checked out Amazon and found that I could purchase the proper sized core bit and appropriate extension in SDS standard for the same cost of renting for 4 hours. I pulled the trigger and with my prime membership, 2 days later I was in business. The bit cut through my wall like a hot knife through butter. The bit and extension itself is high quality construction and you would not think by the description that this thing has a "thin" wall. It is solid and does a great job together with "Bosch T3926SC 13-Inch Extension Sds-Plus for Speedcore Thin-Wall Core Bits". It made short work of a cinder block wall with solid brick on the outside. It paid for itself in one use and has plenty of life left on the carbide tips. I can't argue with that.
