used for an 80 lb heavy bag. the spring adds a perfect amount of give to take stress off the hanger. Better than a spring that was rated up to 400 pounds.

I have a 120 lb water bag hanging this spring flexes like it is supposed too , my original spring was to rigid it did not flex at all so the energy from the punches went to structure this new spring takes up some of the punch energy now my rafters do not shake and rattle as much.

I dont review items often but this deserves it...... I hung a very heavy bag in a log cabin and the place was shaking to bits with every movement. I under estimated the difference this would make, its great. I added some rubber just to reduce squeaking and creaking from the metal to metal contact but that wasn't really essential.I would have these fitted to every punchbag.

My family was commenting that the house shakes quite a bit when I use the heavy bag. The bag is around 100 lbs. I installed this, the vibrations throughout the house have stopped.Works great.

I hung a 100lbs punching bag for boxing. Its does SLIGHTLY stretch. Being that is a short spring (which is exactly what I need), the stretch distance wont be as much as a long spring rated with the same capacity.I hung my punching bag on a solid bracket connected to a concrete wall. and yes, it slightly reduces the noise. I also used rubber washers (additional to steel washers) between the bracket and the wall , and between the bracket and the bolts holding it up. SO its super silent.Ofcourse there will always be some "thudding" noise behind the concrete wall, but nothing too disturbing since its in the garage.If you are hanging a punching bag and using a bracket, I higly suggest a welded one, and not a bracket that is bolted together. Eventually a bolted bracket will start squeaking when the bolts arent tight.
