Mixed feelings. It did provide a solution to hang 5 bikes and freed up space. But the bikes don’t hang level as in the brochure. The front tires are about 5’7” from the floor and my ceiling height is 12”. Also, the supplied hardware lag bolts broke while I torqued them half way into the studs. Read the reviews, this is a common issue. I ended up going to my hardware store and getting new galvanized bolts for everything. If the bikes were level on the lift and the bolts did not snap, this would be a five star review. The mechanical part of the lift works seamlessly though. I do like how the upgraded version now has straps instead of cables so it’s quiet. Also, my neighbor has had this lift for 10 years. He has the older cable model. He’s had no issues and he hangs 3 bikes and 2 fully loaded golf bags. He did mention to me that the lag bolts that were supplied in his kit were good quality.

Wife said you need to get the bikes out the way or we’re over!Ok she didnt really say that but boy was she super happy when I got this thing installed. Bikes are no longer an issue and in the way! Install was fairly straightforward and the quality is awesome! I have 6 bikes on it right now and still have space for more. Thanks Garage Gator! Now Im a happily married man! Thanks for saving my marriage!

It is a sturdy lift and the bolts are large enough to make you feel it is secured. However, the instruction for installation is messy and the installation of the two middle pieces of the track isn’t necessary for holding up weight but merely for the sake of making sure the distance from the motor to the end is even for the straps

I am a car enthusiast who does a lot of my own work. I have a 4 car garage with 1 bay for tools and work area. With 4 kids the bikes easily take up the full bay, having to move bikes in and out every time i need to get to the tool box. I was able to install this using the video from their website in about 2 hours and it works great, kids can use it with ease and the bikes are out of the way. Worth the money to have the kids and wife being able to use it and not have to ask every time a bike needs to get take off a hook.

I received and installed this on the same day by myself without any issues. If you are reasonably handy it is no problem. There are some heavy parts so it is best with two people. The unit is built well and has good function. It is very wide so plan ahead with a lot of space. I replaced the provided bolts with heavier lag bolts as I did not trust what was provided but they are probably fine, I just over engineer everything. The only thing I could say negative is I wish the power cord was longer, but that is just where I placed it in relationship to my power.

Got the box last month and installed on my ceiling. Installation instructions were pretty good, but I'd recommend numbering the parts and referring to those numbers to eliminate the guesswork. Installation into my 14inch ceiling joists was easy, though I needed a help to get the motor mounted. Didn't use their included lag bolts, instead used construction lags that are roughly equivalent. I prefer the more aggressive threading on those bolts.Everything was set and I was ready to install the pole only to find I was missing a section. After a couple calls/texts to the Proslat customer support gal we got that resolved. Big shout-out to customer support, they are a small company that obviously cares about their customers.Anyway, got the hanger bar, installed it, hung all the bikes and was mildly bummed. They didn't look that great all flopping around and the bar had a bit of a bow to it. The bowing is from the joints in the bar, I think the bar was plenty strong enough. The hooks to secure the bikes work OK on an individual bike. In my opinion they allow too much left-right motion and can work themselves free if the bike is bumped frequently. If the bikes are closely spaced and kind of tangled up I think they are more secure. The first pic is the original setup. This is a 12 foot ceiling and the front tire of that 29'er on the right is about 6' 2" above the ground.So, I live in California and my biggest worry is that during the next earthquake it will be raining bikes. I'm pretty sure they would work free of the hook and bar setup during a big shake. Plus, I wanted things to look a little more orderly. So I tossed out the hanger / hook approach and built a better one (for me at least) out of some scrap wood I had in the shop. I'm using a strap / hook across the rear of the seat post to hold in place. Bikes are nicely spaced, no bowing, and more secure. See the second picture for details. Going to shape and stain it after I get little use.The motor is noisy, but super fast. The stop works great. Recommended as-is out of the box (4-Stars). Highly recommended after my custom mods (5-Stars, but you gotta put some work in). Go Go Gator !!
