This wall-mounted kayak storage rack is quite satisfactory to use overall. When I first got it, I could feel that the workmanship is very solid and the materials are thick enough. It is not the kind of light and fluttery rack that makes people feel uneasy at first glance. I installed it on the wall of the garage myself. After installation, I tried to hang a kayak on it. It is very stable, without any feeling of sinking or shaking. The nominal load-bearing capacity is 550 pounds. Although I didn’t hang that much, I have no problem putting two kayaks and some paddle boards on it. The adjustment function is also very convenient. The position can be flexibly adjusted according to the size of the kayak or the storage space. It doesn’t take up too much space and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The anti-rust coating looks reliable. I plan to put it outdoors in spring and summer and put it back in the garage in autumn and winter.

**Background:** I've got two kayaks and a Sculling shell. Couple years ago, I built a rack out of pressure-treated wood. However, the arms were built out of two by sixes that took up a lot of space so I could only fit the two kayaks on it. And I kept sculling shell somewhere else.So when I saw this, I jumped at the idea to upgrade my current rack and better utilize space.**Build Quality:** the rack itself is very good quality the main vertical bars are a heavy gauge steel in the arms are definitely strong enough to hold kayaks and they have nice foam pads. However, I worry about the long-term ability of the foam pads in direct sunlight. You could cover wrap them with some thing for just find a replacement. It may not be an issue, but I won't have enough time to determine for this review. The hardware could be better. In particularly that screws that mount the two vertical bars. They give you drywall anchors, which is absolutely ridiculous. And the stainless steel screws they provide I think are a little undersized. The bolts that hold the actual arms I think are fine, but the washers are a little under size and I would upgrade those.** Assembly:** Is super easy. Instructions are definitely detailed enough. The hardest part is going to the hardware store and upgrading the hardware. Taking your time to make sure the bars are level and figuring out the spacing that works for whatever you're putting on the rack. I think it takes about 10-15 minutes to put together.**Function:** I think this is extremely functional. The adjustability of this is super easy. And much appreciated. I think to fit for sit on top kind of kayaks that are kind of tall might be tight. The kayaks with sleeker profiles you could definitely fit four. The arms are definitely sturdy enough to hold even a large kayak. I have a double sit on top of ocean kayak beast. I was easily able to get the two kayaks and the skull on there. I need to rearrange and put the tallest kayak on top (the big fat double sit on top Ocean Kayak. Once I do that, I'll be able to fit a fourth kayak. or paddle board. The arms hold securely and I like how they're angled slightly back.In conclusion, I think this is a great design and a great value. Save yourself a lot of time instead of trying to make something yourself out of wood and save space.

Overall, this is almost perfect. The two things I don’t like are: 1 - the included hardware. The size of the holes that are drilled are too big for the machine screws they include. A larger washer is needed. The anchors they include will work for some situations but you may need to go to a hardware store depending on your mounting situation. 2 - it is too short for me to fit four kayaks. Maybe if I was using it for paddle boards it would work for four. Not for me.What I like is the pieces are strong and sturdy. The pipes are a good diameter. The foam is a nice touch. The mounting piece which is the square tube is sturdy. Has no problem supporting the weight.Powder coating seems to be well done.Weld joints are nice and clean.Overall, this is a good way to get things out of the way and for the price it is good. Be prepared to purchase a few additional items from the hardware store to make everything work. Should be more than a few dollars.

So far, I've only installed and tested this, because it's still winter. The real test will come with long-term exposure and use.Installation is straight-forward. I was surprised by how small the screws for the wall mounting are, but they're holding. The arms are secured to the frame by carriage bolts.I use inflatables (SUPs and a kayak), but I don't like to need to fully inflate repeatedly during the season, so I let a little air out to allow for expansion, and leave things mostly-inflated. I'm going to run some rope between the arms for added support, since my gear might flex a little.I mounted this on the outside wall of my garage, where it won't get too much sun all year round. I'm impressed by the quality for under $100. I like that the arms are angled at 85 degrees. It's enough to hold my SUPs and kayak in place, but not too high to lift them over.I didn't think to look at this when I ordered, but there are no anchor points for straps to secure my gear. I'd like to strap things in place in case of a big wind event. I've come up with a workaround, but something integrated would be nice.

I actually bought this rack to use in my shop for keeping my pole saws, pole hedge trimmer and pole pruner stored and off the ground. This set is perfect for that use as you can adjust the spacing for the ideal width, store them all on one or two levels and have additional space for lumber, pipe, plant stakes or any other long, bulky items you want to store. Each level has a bit of a cant to it, allowing items to gravitate towards the wall and not fall off easily. The rack is solid and seems very stable. I have no doubt it will hold up well and would be equally well suited for storing kayaks... as intended!
