Easy to install, we put ours on two heavy posts that we set for the purpose. Shopped a lot of these before deciding on these; we are happy with our choice.

I needed a way to store our 14" canoe in the 4' wide space behind our garden barn. I wanted a sturdy solution because I needed to put it on hinges to facilitate entry/exit with that tight space. This was just the ticket. Using a little scrap lumber, some sturdy hinges, and a couple gate latches, I built exactly what I needed and the rack performs beautifully.

This is a very solid, functional item. It worked very well on my 13 foot canoe, placing the braces 8 feet apart into the studs. Before I put this up I looked at the screws. They do not look very strong. So, I bought 6 lag bolts, I think they were 1.5 inches by 5/16. I took in one of the braces right into Lowes and checked so that the bolts would fit properly. Drilled 3/16 starter holes in the studs and put up the braces in less than 10 minutes. A good product but don't trust the screws that come with it. Get lag bolts.

Les supports en métal sont robustes. Après quelques hivers, les anneaux de sangles ont cassés. Ce n’est pas trop grave, on peut toujours attacher les kayaks avec les sangles en passant celles-ci en diagonale avec le support de métal.

We have 4 pairs supporting four fiberglass boats, including one double. The racks are study, stable and the strapping keeps the boats from resting on the metal bars or pressing on a single point on the hull.We had one small problem with a plastic part that holds the straps to the metal frame coming loose but a couple nylon zip ties fixed the problem.I highly recommend these racks over the other designs. Instead of your boat resting on its gunwale or sitting flat and potentially distorting the hull, these racks cradle the boat and keep it elevated. There is also a tie-down strap in case you are in a windy/wavy location and worry about the boat blowing away.

Arrived promptly in excellent condition. Attached racks to concrete block wall by driving masonry screws through 2" x4" pressure-treated lumber. The lumber added width to the span of the racks; so 35" wide canoe lays flat on racks, and doesn't rub against wall. Good simple system at affordable price.July 2024 update, three years after May 2021 purchase; one rack has rusted cracks along the top and bottom length of the metal bar, with splits in the orange coating on three faces. It looks like the bar is deteriorating into rust beneath the orange paint. The other rack is still okay.

This was easy to install. The only thing I had to do was buy longer lag bolts for my application. It went up well and my canoe is secure and safe.

Excellent product. Heavy duty, good price! Serves it's purpose, holds our kayaks very well. The strap and cradle is good as well.Note I did buy the wrong product for my kayaks, but decided to keep this anyway. This product works with Canoes as well. This company has another version which holds kayaks at an angle which takes less space - probably should have bought that one to optimize space. Too heavy to return, and the product is excellent so I kept it.

These are awesome. I wasn’t sure they would work for my 16’ Old Town Penobscot canoe but figured I could rig them up somehow to work regardless. Well they worked perfectly out of the box! Hardware included. I put them approximately 3’ in from each end of the canoe and there was plenty of clearance in the midsection to lay flat. Racks seem sturdy and have no problem holding the canoe which weighs in around 56lbs. Straps had enough in them to get around it too. And the price isn’t bad either. So if you’re like me and thinking these might be just for kayaks, hopefully this review helps you!

This rack is really tough, built well and keeps your craft safe. It is wide enough to spin a kayak from right side up to upside down. Great for storage or working on them. The straps keep the craft from the metal. Clips are great and it is a breeze to install.

Fits my Grumman michicraft and quachita aluminum canoes. Two are 17’ and one is 18’. One of the screws snapped the head off during installation so I had to drill a new hole and install another wood screw I had. But they hold the weight just fine. Plenty large for any self propelled water craft. I would say the hanger itself is of great design and quality. Paint is good. Velcro is good. Hardware that comes with it could be better but it did the job. For the price it is a fair deal to gain room in the shop or garage or house.

This is a nice design of water sport boat rack. I installed it about 2 weeks ago, and so far so good. The only thing for this still TBD is how it will hold up to outdoor weather / rust.Installation was easy - I needed to mount 2x4s to a cinder block wall, in order to mount these to the 2x4. I like the ability to ‘strap’ the kayaks in, as where I mounted these is subject to high winds at times. If I could give myself advice before installing, I would put the racks a little closer together than I did. Because the kayak rests in the “hammock” style strap, you want to make sure there is enough flat area of the kayak to rest in the hammock (since it gets narrower as you move toward the bow and stern). The wider the kayak where it rests on the strap, the more stable and less wobbly it will be when strapped in.The only thing to keep in mind is that the pairs that I received were a very strong, deep orange, not yellow. Though I prefer the orange to yellow, as the orange matches one of my kayaks.
