About this item

  • *Unique Support --- Compared to other hole saw arbor, the heavy duty arbor used in our hole saw has greater stability and durability, and will not easily cause damage to the hole opener, so you can use it with greater confidence.
  • *What You Will Get --- 1 x 6-1/4" hole saw, 1 x 7/16" hex shank arbor, 3 x 1/4" Center bits, 1 x 5/32" Allen wrench. Tips: Keep the drill bit in contact with the cutting surface straight at a low speed. Take some time for the saw to cut, so you can get a smooth and clean round cut.
  • *Excellent Workmanship --- The hole saw is made of M42 high-speed steel and bi-metal, with higher hardness (≥65HRC), higher toughness, higher cutting strength, and stronger wear resistance. Also, Built rust-proof for repeat use. It’s cutting depth of 1.2-inch.
  • *Designed for Smoothly --- The high-quality bi-metal blade and variable pitch sharp HSS teeth combine with Non-binding clean edge design ensures smooth and clean cutting of the hole saw blade. Meanwhile, Small vibration ensures the operation is more stable, and the cutting holes can be quickly balanced.
  • *Extensive Applications --- Hole saw can cut a hole which is 6.25-inch diameter in wood, plywood, plastic, drywall, soft plaster, cornhole boards, acrylic-board, thin metals (within 1/4 inch), and etc. In addition to cutting holes for canned lights or recessed lights, punching saws are also suitable for home projects on air ducts, speakers, ceiling lamps, etc.

It works but not great. You can dial in any hole size but the clamps aren't great and slip quite a lot. Alen wrench that came with it is cheap and mine got rounded on the first use. Also the hole is not very clean.

Used this to cut in over 20 led puck lights. Works fantastic in Sheetrock. I did use to cut holes in 29 gauge corrugated metal and was only able to get a few holes so would recommend if you are using for that application you buy more than one. It’s worth the price.

I needed a 6" hole in an exterior wall for a vent pipe. The wall from the interior gyp to the outside of my T&G siding was 7 - 1/4" thick. I drilled through from the inside and hit a stud that required drilling through about 1/3rd of the stud - this bit cut right through the edge of the stud without any problem. Not only did I get a perfect hole through the wood and gyp but also a perfect cut through the insulation.

The hole saw works fine, but you better have some strength and bracing. This 8” saw will throw you around if you are not ready for it. 😁 I used it with a 3/8” drill but a large 1/2” drill would have been better. A 5/8” drill would probably be ideal. First thing I learned was to make sure the saw was completely tight on the arbor. I started with it as tight as possible, but still able to slide the arbor’s posts into the hole saw holes. This created a bit of a jump when starting the sawing, which was enough to angle the saw and break the arbor’s drill bit. This caused the drill to jump up out of control and nearly hit my leg. I, stupidly, was not in a good braced position for that surprise. I learned quickly. Fortunately, the saw came with three drill bits, so I had a replacement. I was trying to saw through the seats of six kitchen chairs to make garden plant holders for my wife. So, on my next try, I brace myself with a shoulder width stance and the chair braced against my leg. I had tighten the saw as much as possible and not worried about the posts. This was much better. I started the drilling. After a few moments of drilling I began lifting the drill up and down about a 1/8” every few seconds to keep the saw from binding in the wood. I also wobbled it a little based on which side was cutting deeper, so it wouldn’t bind up. This worked fantastic. However, after just two chairs, the drill casing on the drill I was using was getting real heated (hence, why I suggest a larger drill or, at least, a higher powered drill. Though it should be noted, the drill I was using was not my best, because I wasn’t sure it wouldn’t burn out). So, I stopped and let the drill rest. The case actually got nearly too hot to touch. After a couple hours, the drill was still a little warm, but I did another chair, then stopped for the day. The hole saw, even though it got hot as well, still seemed sharp and in good shape. The next day I drilled one chair an hour, more for the drill’s sake than the saw’s. I got through them all without any issues. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the hole saw held up. It still seems good, which is surprising considering how it was delivered. It came in a plastic shipping envelope that was falling apart because the box the saw was in came apart in shipping (I assume) and the box was printed all in Chinese. Interesting to see that and not entirely inspiring confidence in its quality. I thought they normally repackaged items in English boxing. Anyway, just interesting. Not a big fan of Chinese-made products, but when it’s all one can get and it is of quality, how can one argue. I would buy again.

When I first opened the package and saw this I was impressed! I thought "This is really Heavy Duty! Just what I need!". I was WRONG! The first problem with it was not a manufacturing issue but I think I should mention that I put this on a LARGE drill press and the radius was about 3/8" too large to allow it to spin on the machine. So if you're looking to use this in a shop, think twice and be sure that the radius will be accommodated on your equipment. I ended up using this on a hand drill. It worked well for the first 2 holes I was trying to drill in a 2 x 6. But when I started the 3rd hole this thing failed badly. The center bar quickly slid 3/8" through the arbor and suddenly I was drilling two holes at once and neither was the correct diameter. I stopped, removed the drill bit to access the set screw for the arbor, re-centered the arbor and tightened the set screw down hard (and I mean VERY hard as I didn't want this thing to move out of place again). It moved within seconds of trying to drill the hole again. The cost wasn't that much and frankly I don't have the time to deal with returning the thing. While I can't recommend a different brand I would say AVOID this one.

I rarely write reviews, but felt i should contribute to this one. This hole saw a relatively affordable at just $30. The construction is good and the arbor is also good. The saw itself does have some significant weight, so it seemed promising. I needed to cut 24 holes in 20ga steel for a project; and I used cutting oil with every cut. I was able to cut 12 holes before the hole saw completely lost its cutting ability. I was able to re-sharpen the tool using a grinder. This allowed me to make another 11 cuts before it was compete dull again. I tried to sharpen it once more, but it would not cut after that. Conclusion : this tool definitely works as designed but quickly deteriorates when used on steel.

Needed a 6 1/4" hole saw to install LED pot lights in my living room, and this product worked perfectly.Solid metal and sharp saw edges, that cut through and inch of drywall in seconds. Please note that the the attachment bit that goes into the drill is about half an inch in diameter, and didn't fit into my regular/battery operated drill.Had to use an electric hammer drill that allowed for such a large bit to be installed.
