This is a MUST HAVE item for installing ceiling lights. Drywall will get everywhere if you don't use this.The bi-metal saw has rather fine teeth for a good clean cut into the drywall.The arbor locks the saw with a couple of pins to keep the saw from spinning. This arbor also holds the drill bit.The dust-bowl is made of something like silicone and flexes the perfect amount. As an added plus, the dust-bowl incorporates a bearing to make things run smoother and may make the thing last longer.If you are installing 4" ceiling lights, you need this.

The saw works fine for light mounting in the ceiling. The dust kit is more trouble than it is worth in my opinion. I can move faster just sawing and vacuuming up the mess.

This product works really well for quickly cutting nice clean holes in drywall and minimizing the mess. The plastic dust catcher works great. There were no instructions in the box but it's pretty obvious after you look at it how it works.....with the exception of the spring that is provided. There are also some pictures on the Amazon site. The spring created more problems than necessary and it actually works easiest without using the spring. I found that it's best to completely empty the dust from the plastic catcher immediately after each hole is cut, so keep a bucket next to where you are working for this purpose. .

This worked great for about 6 holes, and then it started drifting on the surface of the ceiling because it was dull already. My ceiling appears to be a thin layer of plaster on top of drywall. I'm not sure if other brands would do the same thing on thin plaster, but I am going to have to buy another one for the many more holes I need to make.
