For the price, you get a great value here because you have the hole saw, the arbor and an extra bit with a masonry tip. I do a lot of recessed lighting in plaster ceilings and this is the perfect answer for getting it done quickly and cleanly.

Works great for canless LEDs, for drywall, plaster/lath it’s amazing, this doesn’t wear out like a metal holesaw. I’ve cut over 50 holes in drywall, plaster/lath and wouldn’t know it by looking at the teeth of the holesaw. I’ve cut one hole thru natural stone tile, it was slow and used water to cool, but it worked. Will work on wood, but takes a little while. Im an electrician and have 3-5/5”, 4-1/8”, 4-1/4”, 6-1/4” and they are all great, the price is also great.

Works great for recessed lights through hard plaster, just not wood use a regular holesaw. Highly recommend for electricians for the price.

The cutting edges are coated with carbide, not made of carbide, which concerned me at first. The instructions say to cut at a low RPM, which I did and it cut 3 perfect holes. That’s all I needed it for so it was money well spent.

Worked great to cut though old plaster ceiling. The plaster in my 50s house is a finish coat/scratch coat/gyp board backing that is like concrete that has dulled the teeth right off of bi-metal hole saws before. This hole saw went right through it with no issues and left a clean cut.
