Friendly Tips

  • It is advisable to utilize a constant current LED driver that is in accordance with the parameters indicated on the label.
  • The LED chip should be mounted on an aluminum or copper heat sink with the back coated in thermal silicone grease. The working temperature must remain below 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Please refer to the positive (anode +) and negative (cathode -) sign on Leds.

Perfect choice, pretty shade of blue, can't go wrong. Working fine, no problems, I am happy.

These start shining with mere microamps of current, they're quite bright by the time you run 10mA through them, and they're blinding at 700mA (their continuous power limit). The unit I tested didn't seem to be getting especially warm at that power level; I had it sitting on a heat sink, but it was isolated by Kapton tape, and didn't have any thermal compound. These will certainly serve well for high-visibility signaling applications, but I'm mostly going to use them with brightness control for night-vision-preserving illumination.

This is a robust light module. Thick PCB and aluminum backed for adding a heat sink if required.I purchased these for making a light base for some of my glass art work. I did tone down the light with a 50 ohm current limiting resistor. This is still plenty bright and doesn't over power the artwork, but enough to see in daylight.Nice lights.
