I grabbed this because I love all things "retro" (like vinyl records), and this is a great find.

Vintage is all the rage. This telephone is definitely vintage and looks authentic. It isn't as heavy as the old ones were, which is nice. It is made of high quality plastic and actually has a rotary dialer. It is also plug and play for a landline. This is lots of fun especially as addition to a vintage decorated room.

My kids got a kick out this "antique" phone. They had no idea this was how you had to dial a phone back when I was a kid. In their life they haven't used land lines at all or even push button phones that replaced these rotary phones. I still have a land line to use with the alarm system, so I was able to use this phone on that line without issue. Very close to the original experience.

It is absolutely a great throw back to the 80s, looks great, would make a great nostalgia gift and works well to boot.

Great retro telephone that works well and dials on modern phone systems. This phone has a bell when it rings that reminds those of us who remember these type phones. This phone plugs in using standard RJ12 phone wires for regular landlines. I plugged the phone in to my home phone jack and dialed a number. Wow! I forgot what dialing a phone was like. The call connected just fine. The sound and tone of the call is great. More important the aesthetic is very cool. It reminds me of the phones when I was very little. For those a little more technical, this phone is supported on DTMF phone systems (dual tone multi frequency) and dials using that method rather than the antiquated pulse method dial phones used to use. The phone works just fine. It would be nice to help remember phone numbers as you have to dial them out.

I wanted something for my desktop that would look unique and spark conversation. The HTMengt Retro Rotary Dial Phone looks beautifully out of place against the other sleek, modern 21st-century devices surrounding it, and it actually works! I initially wondered if the dialer wound forward and back like the old ones I've seen, and I'm happy to report that it does. About the only difference is that the action is louder than the original ones I've seen still in use in some businesses, but it works just the same. I find this to be an incredible value, and yes, I really have had people ask me if it's just a a model or a working device. Recommended for fans of vintage hardware.

This is a nice, sturdy, functional retro telephone. It has an authentic look and ring, though it is more lightweight because much of the old metal mechanisms have been transformed into smaller and more efficient technology. It works with no other electricity except for a simple landline cord. The rotary dial is upgraded to turn the rotary numbers into the standard tones with a different pitch for each number. So while dialing each number, you will hear old-style clicking, but followed by a high pitched beep as though you were using a touch tone phone. My one issue is that the handset does not always evenly sit on the cradle, often preferring to shift to one side or the other. This seems like a very minor issue, although it makes me really appreciate our old, original dial phone that we had when I was a kid, because I never remember the handset sitting off-center.It's kinda fun having that old relic back in the house, even if it's just a reproduction. It goes well with our hand crank coffee grinder and old fashioned toaster.
