This spring is super beefy. I believe our bag weights about 100 pounds, maybe closer to 120, and it's no problem at all for this spring. In fact, it's barely stretched when hung. It helps to eliminate a lot of the chain rattle while in use, which is a huge boon for the entire upper floor. I had to make a hardware store run for a carabiner though because our has a ring welded to the top of 4 chains at the top: no way to thread that into the spring! Do check that before purchasing so you can add a good heavy weight carabiner to the order (and realize that this will drop the bag a total of like 6" between the spring and carabiner).
