I've only been playing for 7 months and thought it was time to upgrade my mouthpiece from a 4C & 5C to this 5CM. Wanted to try a hard rubber mouthpiece. I find the 5CM to be easier to move air through for one. It's definitely a slight bit darker sound which I like. Could also play softly easier than the others. Hitting those upper side key notes was easier also. A work in progress. A little more time will be needed to play in tune like I was doing with the 4C & 5C. The 5CM I noticed slides on to cork easier also. Not an issue. These are my observations after one practice session.

Excellent quality mouthpiece at great price,I play with this piece live and it plays great...and the intonation is great,which is hard to achieve on Soprano

I bought this Mouthpiece for my Jean Batiste Soprano Sax. With my previous Mouthpiece I had trouble hitting the lower notes. With this new piece, I found it much easier to adjust my embochure to attain a clear sound for those lower notes. I enjoyed the note clarity I received as well. It has a pleasing tone.

It may not be a top-of-the-line mouthpiece, (check the price!), but it is great for classical playing, where you want a warm sound that blends in an ensemble.
