I use this mouthpiece with a Yanagisawa soprano sax, and Rovner Versa ligature. I also have a Vandoren Optimum SL3, and a Selmer Concept. This mouthpiece (S27) is very similar to the SL3, but the tip opening and facing are slightly different, and so is the sound. It seems a bit less bright than the SL3, and preferable to my ear. I also prefer it to the Selmer Concept, which is a bit darker sounding, but more difficult to play. Bottom line is that the S27 is now my standard soprano sax mouthpiece, and I'm very pleased with it.
