For a cheap tool I did not expect this to be anywhere near as good. I used it to fit springband clamps on my coolant hoses. The tool has a nice locking function that allows you to take your hand off it if you need to do something else (like push a hose onto a barb with both hands). It was really put to the test as I had to replace a clamp behind the engine reaching around it. This tool made it possible. Highly recommend.

As someone who has struggled removing hose clamps over the years, this tool is a godsend.Typically, I use pliers of some kind to remove a clamp. This is usually an exercise in frustration as the clamps tend to slip and you spend about 20 minutes removing a clamp.This tool removes about 90% of the frustration, between the specially designed tip and the ratcheting mechanism it makes removal a quick job (assuming you can reach the clamp with this tool).About the only downside to this tool is that it seems to be average quality. But given that I am a hobby mechanic, this tool will probably outlive me. Heck at this price, buy a couple if you are a pro and see how long they last.For hard to reach clamps, you need a more specialized tool (I know they exist...basically a gripper on a long flexible shaft)But for most use cases, this is a great tool.

I installed a new dishwasher in one of my rental properties about 2-1/2 months back. I struggled with the hose clamp, trying it with my fingers and standard pliers. It kept popping off and turned out to be the most difficult part of the job. I’ve never owned a pair of hose clamp pliers before, but decided I’m getting at that age where things are not as easy as they used to be. I need all the help I can get so I went ahead and ordered these. Although I haven’t had the opportunity to use these yet on a job, I have messed around with them enough to evaluate their quality and comfort.These hose clamp pliers come with a very comfortable rubber padded grip. They have a locking mechanism on them that allows you to sort of ratchet in and out to adjust their width. It holds that setting in place so that you are able to slide a hose clamp up and down the line until you get it into the right position to release it and lock it into place. What an amazing feature! I’m not a mechanic and will likely only use these two or three times a year. With that amount of use, I expect that these will likely last me a lifetime. If you’re a mechanic and you’re using them every day on the job, it could be a different story. At the time of writing this review these hose clamp pliers are priced below $10. Their normal price is 2 1/2 times that amount. At that normal price, I probably wouldn’t order these and pay that much for them. At the current sale price I think they are an unbelievable great value. I feel like an appropriate price would fall somewhere in between those two numbers, but I will let you be the judge of what the value on them is to you. I tend to shop and hold out for the good deals. I can definitely tell you that I have no regrets with ordering these and I’m anxious to actually have a reason to use them in a project.

Hace poco adquirí estos alicates porque necesitaba una herramienta confiable para trabajar con abrazaderas de resorte en las mangueras del coche, y debo decir que superaron mis expectativas.Lo primero que me impresionó fue lo fácil que es utilizarlos. La punta giratoria de 360 grados hace que llegar a lugares complicados sea mucho más sencillo. Trabajé en una manguera de difícil acceso del sistema de refrigeración y, gracias a estos alicates, fue pan comido. Además, el resorte y la palanca de pulgar hacen que liberar las abrazaderas sea rápido y sin esfuerzo.Los materiales se sienten muy resistentes. El acero al carbono tratado le da una solidez que transmite confianza incluso en trabajos más exigentes. Además, los mangos de PVC antideslizantes son cómodos y no resbalan, algo que valoro mucho después de varias horas de uso continuo.Definitivamente una herramienta versátil, ideal no solo para coches, sino también para otras tareas mecánicas. Es compacta y fácil de guardar en mi caja de herramientas. Por el precio, diría que es una inversión más que razonable. ¡Totalmente recomendable!
