Ordered it priority, was guaranteed delivery by Friday, and it came a day early! Great quality pan; even has a recipe for a chocolate cake and the proper amounts of batter to put in each pan to make the perfect cake.

If you have not bought this already you may want to consider making this purchase. This cake pan makes a great statement piece and is perfect for a small birthday party... and, I use it for all of my adult friends (that is how I found out about it... someone made it for me!). Easy to use, there is an instruction booklet but it is so simple you don't need it... fun to look at and even better to eat! I'd say it serves 6 generous portions of 8 slim portions... which is perfect with all the ice cream you'll want to add ;).Also, when frosting the bottom half (where the cupcake paper would normally be) I just take a fork and "rake" the frosting in an upward motion to mimic the wrapper folds... then just frost or whip cream the top, sprinkles if you like and top with a candle... or not. This cake is just fun to serve to guests. And if you are really daring, on the bottom half just scoop/cut out some of the cake and put pudding/ice cream/or whatever filling you like in it... then just put the top on and frost as you normally would... enjoy!

I LOVE this cupcake pan!! I've made it several times and I've never had any issues with this. The first time I tried it I made a standard cake mix, and it turned out really well, but wasn't quite a sturdy as I wanted when I was ready to frost it. Every time afterwards I've made it with a pound cake recipe and it is so much better! It is easier to frost and it is a little heavier for overall enjoyment. I always freeze the layers first before I ice them to make the icing easier.Pros:1. Heavy duty pan2. Easy to clean3. Always comes out with a delicious cake4. Great for a large crowd; the pieces are a little big.Cons:I don't have any. This does take a while to ice, if you don't have a lot of time or the necessary ingredients it can get tiresome. But it is well worth the effort, this makes a great cake and is always enjoyed by everyone. Not to mention its a giant cupcake! Everyone loves looking at it and wondering what it will taste like. It makes for a great centerpiece for a birthday party.

This is a great cake to make. It takes a while to bake (325 for about 45 mins to an hour -- you'll need a to check if it's done because the pan is so deep) but if you spray it enough before it will pop right out if you let it cool for 10-15 minutes. I put both sides in the oven at the same time and it was fine. One time I used one cake mix and although it didn't fill it up all the way the cupcake (after I trimmed the top part of both sides to be able to frost the middle and connect them) was fine, just a tiny bit shorter. The second time I made two cake mixes (as some have said) and then made extra cupcakes. After making this a few times if I'm just making it for our family I'll just do the one cake mix and have it be a little shorter (1"-2") but if I have to feed a large group I'll do two cake mixes so that the cake is a little taller but so I also have cupcakes to feed the masses.I liked the reviewer that "glued" scrapbook paper to it with frosting. The first time I frosted the bottom (not piped) and I didn't like how it turned out. The second and third time I didn't frost the bottom just the top and it looked cuter and was just fine! Next time I'll try the paper and see if that works.Bottom line: I would buy this pan again. More fun than just a square/rectangle cake but not so hard to do that you have to be a professional to make it look nice--I'm a mom and I did it! :)Oh, one more thing that I like is the giant muffin pans...check those out! They make great large individual cupcakes more like what you get at the fancy cupcake stores. Love them! :) oh and the liners

This is a good product. It is well made, and it actually DOES come with directions - not sure what those other folks received. However, if you don't anticipate at least a 4 hour cake project, do not buy this product. The bake time alone is 70 minutes, but the finished product was DELISH! The recipe that is included: chocolate chip pound cake, is absolutely decadent, but it is a 'from scratch' recipe and so took a bit more time. For the decorating part, you MUST have decorator tips/bags or a Wilton decorator gun. I used both and the gun fared much better with smoother control. TIP: if using canned icing, slightly chill before using otherwise it will fall right off of the cake. I topped with jumbo confetti sprinkles to cover the oops spots (I'm sure it will get easier with practice) and it turned out really cute. Everyone was really impressed! I can see how a boxed mix would be too soft and so toughening up with use of dry pudding mix or an extra egg as one review suggested would be in order.

I was debating purchasing the cheaper flexible pan, but after reading many reviews I chose this one. I am so glad I did! This is a wonderful pan.I took tips from many of the reviews I read and came up with a system that has baked perfectly every time. I grease the pan, instead of using a cooking spray (which is what I generally use, but wanted to make sure this came out nicely). I use one store bought cake mix and put most of the batter in the bottom (of course). When both sides are filled, even though the lid has much less batter, it looks fuller and is at a higher level than the bottom because it is shallow and pointy. When it comes to baking, it is very simple. I use the timing on the cake box under the bundt directions (somewhere around 42 minutes). I put both sides in at the same time, but 15 minutes into cooking I put tinfoil over the top of the lid for the remainder of the cooking time. I let it cool down quite a bit before taking it out of the pan and have never had it stick or break. It comes out perfect everytime!
