It’s not a spray, just thin paste to rub on sides of baking pan, a very thin layer, and boom your chances of a cake sticking are like none GAMECHANGER! Even my chocolate chips didn’t stick to pan!!!! If you’re debating on buying, just do it!!!!

I bought this because my culinary students were making the Wilton Stand up bear and I needed it to go right without any problems. This product was amazing. If you are making a special cake and worried about getting the cake out this is a great product.

This product is fantastic. You will never look back. But for it to work well, you must remember to SHAKE the bottle VERY WELL before its FIRST USE, and in between applications. If you do this, the product will perform perfectly till the last drop, and you will kick yourself for not getting it any sooner!I do a lot of decorative cakes, mainly for my grandchildren’s birthdays, and on special occasions. I have many Nordic Ware pans. Now, there are a lot of nooks and crannies in those (especially in the small individual ones)… It used to take me forever to get all of those buttered and floured so that there would be no sticking anywhere once baked – on top of being a messy job and having to brush off traces of flour from the cake surface after. So, one day after reading many reviews on different “release” products, I ordered Wilton Cake Release Baking. Once I received the product, I read the instructions carefully, took a big breath, and went ahead.Wow! One of the best days of my life! I will never go back to buttering and flouring, not as long as WILTON --Cake Release Baking is available -and at a decent price.Details of steps:1- SHAKE bottle VIGOROUSLY2- Squirt fairly GENEROUS drop(s) (Wilton says "Tin Coating", you need GENEROUS DROPS to achieve this)3- Using a good pastry brush, spread the product all over the BOTTOM and WALLS of the pan. When in doubt, add a little more to make sure ALL nooks and crannies are covered.4- Pour batter in the pan, filling no more than 2/35- Once baked (toothpick comes out clean), let the cake cool on a cooling grid for 10 MINUTES6- After 10 minutes, with a THIN FLEXIBLE SILICONE SPATULA, GENTLY DETACH THE SIDES of the cake (you will be amazed how easy the walls detach, but be gentle nevertheless)7- Now PLACE a second GRID on TOP of the cake8- FLIP both the CAKE & the second GRID OVER9- LIFT the PAN OFF the cake: the pan will slide off like a charm & the cake will stay on the grid10- LET the cake COOLGive yourself a break and get this product but remember to shake the bottle VERY well, especially the first time around!I recommend this product 100%. Will add photos soon.

Used this for a skull shaped cake tin, and it worked perfectly - cake came out with no problems, and had good definition. Didn’t seem to have any unpleasant after taste

You just pour a little into your tin and brush around with your pastry brush to ensure even coverage which you would need to do with the spray alternatives anyway. I tested first in a couple of bundt tins as I was up for the challenge, one of the cakes was a typical sticky variety. Guess what NO PROBLEM both cakes came out of their tins perfectly, no tapping or shaking required I didn't even flour the inside of the tins. I will definitely be purchasing again!

Releases cakes great. My one gripe is when you are coming to the end of the bottle I find I have to cut it in two to get quite a lot of the grease out

I like to bake, but I would by no means label myself a "pro" or even "enthusiast" - I have friends that spend hundreds of dollars on the best baking pans, icing tips, candy flavorings, etc., and I'm the type that considers any baking project that requires more than a bowl, spoon, pan, and an oven to be too much effort for me. However, I'm also the type that gets irritated when I spend all kinds of time greasing & flouring a pan, only to have chunks of cake still stuck to it when I go to invert my cake onto a plate. Nothing like a cake with chunks missing from it to let people know "Hey! I clearly have no idea what I'm doing!" A coworker recommended this after witnessing one of my cake snafus at an office pitch-in - said it makes cakes "slide right out of the pan without so much as a crumb missing". I was skeptical, but I was willing to try just about anything so I ordered a bottle. My coworker knew what she was talking about - this stuff is pure magic. Squirt a small amount in the pan, spread it around evenly with a pastry brush, and then add your batter; when the cake is done (and has cooled a bit), this stuff does all the work - I didn't even have to bang on the pan to get the cake to release. The cake easily slid out without any effort and looked pristine. The positives? It actually works; it doesn't alter the flavor, texture, or appearance of your cakes; and a little of it goes a long way - this bottle will last you quite awhile. The negatives? You do really need a pastry brush in order to ensure it gets distributed evenly through the pan, and sometimes the tip of the bottle got clogged and I had to shake it vigorously to release the blockage and get the product flowing again. But overall, I highly recommend it - really makes me feel like I've got my act together as a baker!
