I took apart the ice box and had no trouble replacing it. I recommend taking several photos of the disassembly so you can put it back together.

There are many vendors of ice dispenser augers and they all list the refrigerators they fit, but often they're wrong. After buying and returning two other augers, I found the fitment list on this listing to be accurate. And this auger is also better quality than he ones I returned which had rough machining and burrs left on the threads.

This was the second auger we purchased for out GE Side by Side Refrigerator. Now that it is installed, it is a perfect fit with all the washers installed. The only thing i must add is that you take lots of pictures as you dismantle the icemaker bucket. We missed a couple so it took a bit longer to put back together. Now we are back in business!* do a rough auger measurement before you order. This one is 11” and is a perfect fit!!!

It is necessary to file the plastic spacers in the ice maker for proper fit, or file the flat sides on the shaft for proper fit. Otherwise the auger is a few millimeters to long and will not rotate.

Part# WR17X11263. The short ice augers shaft is only about 11” long and only fits smaller capacity refrigerators. Mine is a 23 cu. ft model. Beware: The threads on the end of my ice augers original shaft were a fine thread pitch while the threads on the new replacement ice augers shaft were a course thread pitch. This created a problem while screwing the reverse threaded nylon retaining nut back into the shaft. Also, the shaft has a bevel for the nylon washers and cutting blades that was not machined down far enough on the shaft. I ended up removing 1 cutting blade and 1 nylon washer from the end closest to the retaining nut and just tightened down the retaining nut while cross threading it onto the shaft. I would have rethreaded the threads in the nylon nut but they are reverse threads and I do not have that tool! Do you? In conclusion, the replacement ice auger shaft you order may or may not fit.
