Bought fridge in mid 2020. This is the third craft ice maker. Swapped them out myself; two screws and a small unplug.

The ice maker works great but the replacement does not come with installation screws. Make sure to keep the ones from the original.

The LG OEM ice maker was an exact replacement for the defective Ice maker located in the freezer compartment of our LG refrigerator. This is the second ice maker after the original and one replaced under warranty stopped working properly. Both previous parts refused to drop the ice, pretty sure the heater on the ice maker stops working. The ice maker is attached with only two screws and one electrical connector. All you have to do is remove the middle sliding tray in the freeze to get access to the screws. You don't have to turn off the water or unplug the refrigerator to complete the removal and replacement. It has been over a week, and all seems to be working fine. The durability of the replacement ice maker is unknown, but this is a common issue with LG and other brand refrigerators. At least it is an easy repair, and you won't also have to pay for a service call on top of the overpriced part.
