Overall the change over was great and easy except for one thing. While changing a couple of the components over from the old to new, one of the screws from the old unit was longer than the hole looked and felt to take well. It appeared like I was going to either crack the plastic mounting hole or strip the screw out, so I cut the screw shorter and worked fine. This might only pertain to my situation, but made the swap a bit more difficult than I had expected. It did take a few hours for everything to start working, but seems to be all good.

Folks the days of your ice maker lasting as long as your fridge are long gone. Thankfully replacing it every three years or so is pretty easy (the non stick coating wears off it looks grotty trust me you want to replace them). The Clima Tek has been churning out ice like a champ since it was installed in my 12 year old Whirlpool. a top tip is don't throw out any parts like the on and off lever as you may have to swap it over to prevent the ice bin from becoming too full. This is a no brainer buy.

Installation was simple, however it stopped making ice after 6 weeks. It’s not clogged up and doesn’t have ice stuck in it. The return policy is only good for a month. I’m not very happy about having to buy another ice maker after 6 weeks. I wish I had bought an original Maytag to begin with.

The ice maker is a perfect fit to our Maytag refrigerator, screw holes lined up perfectly. The ice cubes seem a little larger than the those from the original ice maker. There as an issues well not a big one with the old ice maker. The smaller cubes often froze together in 2s and s sometimes creating a jam in the dispenser. The cubes from this ice maker do not freeze together and dispense much better. A definite buy if you need to replace your ice maker.

The ice maker on my 23 year old Jenn Air stopped working and the teflon coating had worn off. I wasn't looking to invest a lot of money and this one worked perfectly. Not a difficult DIY project. Does not come with wiring harness so make sure you take off the one from the unit you replace. There is a small cut out to fit some refrigerator models water intake. It was a little difficult to cut with scissors so it got a small serrated knife which I heated on a gas burner. The knife cut the plastic very easily.

The delivery was on time and was packaged well. The install was very easy even without watching or reading how to do it. Just took the old one out and looked to see where I had to attach the bracket and then put it back in in less then 10 minutes. I did have to watch a video on how to adjust the water level because it was over flowing. Works with the Admiral (ASD2123DR) Refrigerator.

I used this as a replacement in my Maytag frig, at first I thought it was not compatible because it did take about 2 hrs to start making ice cubes but it works very well . Do NOT throw away the electrical cord from your old ice maker, you'll need it with this one.
