These are great for securing loads that don't need to be super tight. I've used these with our cargo carrier hitch and they perform well. Usually I prefer ratchet straps for really cranking the straps tight, but that isn't always necessary. That's where these come in with the lighter weight strap locks that aren't so bulky like the ratchets. They are also much cheaper than the ratchet straps. What's not to like? Definitely recommended.

This is a pair of nylon straps, about 8 ft. long by 1 in. wide with a cast zinc cam buckle. They can be used for a variety of things, like lashing up a sleeping bag, tent, mat, etc. They could also be used to secure a cardboard box or hold the lid on a plastic bin. Included with this review is a picture of one of these in action holding the lid in place on a large plastic bin that was overstuffed with soft guitar gig bags. I would also feel comfortable using these to lash gear to the luggage rack on a motorcycle, although the 8 ft. length may be a bit much for this application.The current price of about 7 dollars on Amazon seems quite reasonable, considering it includes two straps.Note that the specifications shown on the package for these straps are all listed in metric measurements. That is why, earlier in this review, I listed the length as “about” 8 ft. and width 1 in., which are the closest Imperial measurements to the metric on the package. The breaking strength is listed as a 200 daN (dekanewton) which is a unit of force I had never heard of. I was able to convert 200 daN to about 450 lb. This works out to a working load of 150 lb., or 1/3 of the breaking strength, which is the generally accepted standard. In any case, I think the capacity of 150 lb. is higher than anything I would ever use these for.Overall, I like these straps and think they’re a good value for the money. They should work well for a variety of uses.
