I had a little problem with lining up the screws during assembly; however, managed to complete the job as directed. My children love it. It performs exceptionally well and looks very elegant.

This is humongous! It’s nice, but consider where you’re putting it and it’s surroundings. I got it for a Gothic look, but it overwhelms and detracts from the focal point, the door.I installed it on the post my old mail box was on, now it’s too close to the door.I posted a picture how you can easily elongate your post if it’s not 48 inches tall. Check the scrap wood pile at Lowes or Home Depot - you can buy a few inches for a couple bucks. The metal pieces are cheap.Very easy to install, gather the right tools it won’t even take 20 minutes. Use electric screwdriver and some screws require a hex bit, makes things much easier.I did not have a problem sliding the pieces over the 4 x 4, if you do give it a bear hug and slightly tug down on it. A trick for putting the box together: temporarily put duct tape to hold it together, be sure to leave the Mailbox door open, butt against the wall then push.

Love my new mailbox. I saw this on a house and thought it was a metal $400 mailbox. While browsing amazon i found this!! It is plastic. I think it is a sturdy quality product. Box is large and has a cool pull out flag. I snapped the parts together and my partner installed it. Was pretty easy. We used the existing wooden post, got out the saw and cut off parts unneeded - so we could slip the new mailbox over it. Got the vinyl rub on numbers off amazon too in silver.

Almost didn’t buy cause of some of the reviews, all not true this mailbox was so easy and sturdy and well made so glad I did buy it at such a bargain price.Maybe they didn’t follow the instructions. One thing I did was put the post together and put in a 20” hole to make sure how much to cut off a 8’ 4x4 post measured and took back out of hole took top sleeve off then I cut excess post off with a Chainsaw I did not take bottom sleeve off just pulled it up some so out of way to put post in ground with quick set cement, leavened it up then slid bottom down to ground let dry before continuing with instructions, one other tip when sliding the roof on the box two sets of hands help because the back wall sets up 1/2” so someone needs to push up on the back while someone is sliding the roof to get over the lip. Hope this is helpful.

I’m going to start by saying that I usually ignore negative reviews based on how hard items are to put together. I’m usually thinking “How hard can it really be?” and “What is the function and beauty once it’s together?”. But if I had known how hard this was going to be, and how cheap the box itself is, I would NOT have bought it.This was EXTREMELY hard to put together, it took us two days total. My husband kept saying “Ugh, this is so cheap!” in frustration. The hardest part is getting the mailbox over the piece of wood, and getting the correct size piece of wood. I originally bought a 4x4 that it slid over pretty easily (my fault for not doing the math correctly) but the wood has to go into the ground 18-24 inches AND be tall enough to hold up the mailbox, and for the mailbox to screw into it. The correct size to buy is 4x6 and then cut it to fit. The bigger size was also fatter in our case and my husband really struggled to get it to fit over the wood. I’m short (4 11’) and would not have been able to do it at all, period. The whole thing was hard to assemble and took a lot of brut force. It’s put together now and LOOKS good, but what I hate most is that it’s hard to open (I have to force it each time) and I’ve had to tighten the knob to open it once a week since installation. If it came pre-assembled I’d give it 3 Stars. I really hate how cheap / hard to open the door is.

Extremely attractive and very well-built. I can’t speak highly enough about this mailbox it’s extremely sturdy and was fairly easy to put together. It looks very attractive and I very much appreciate the side panels, they leave adequate room for large numbers or street name (about 4 inches high). This area is very visible.I saw a few reviews saying that the weight of the mailbox was bending the bracket that holds it up. I can only say that this problem is certainly fixed now. My one tip would be you cannot pre-assemble the mailbox without the post. I did this inside my garage one evening before I had to post in the ground. Then had to take it all apart, and build again when I had the post available. If this review was helpful please let me know by clicking the “Helpful” button below the review.

Have to say we love the new mailbox. Did some measuring and we would recommend a 72 inch post as it worked well for us.We buried it deeper 28 inches witch left 44 inches to slip outside post over. Fit was nice and tight as extra height in wood gave us more stability and metal part that,(do,this first,) was nice and tight.Look at outside of box for better understanding of how to put together . metal frame that stablelizes everything,at bottom of mail box ,slip this out of plastic sleave by itself first ,measure and screw it to plastic post slipped over wood post ,then slip plastic ,box bolder over it and then screw to pole. then put mailbox on and screw down. Very easy, waited a couple days for cement to harden. Also recommend two bags of cement that pours directly into hole with recommended water,no pre mixing. We have the Best looking Mail box in the neighborhood ! Dont understand why people Cheap out as a regular mailbox cost is close to what this beauty is. Glad we didnt go for Expensive $400 one eather, this is great bang for the buck.
