The description says, "1/4" quick-change shank reduces slipping in standard chucks and is compatible with all 1/4" quick-change chucks, including impact drills."The actual product does not have a quick-change shank, nor is it 1/4". It's 3/8".

Irwin Speedbor drill bits are outstanding for drilling holes through wood. I use these for electrical wiring installs and they are fast in drilling through 2"x4" lumber. You can even resharpen them if needed!

So far the bit works great. Very sharp and drills holes easily. Have not hit a mail yet and if so hopefully will hold up. I like the bit and think it is good value for the money.

Very balanced. 3 flutes don't shake and bounce like a 2 flute or paddle/spade bits. Really pulls itself through timber without having to shove.

Look no further folks. Have had this bit for 2 years doing cable installs.Never seen a bit like this that will consistent cut through damn near anything like butter.Have hit 3 nails in its lifetime and wanted to torture the bit so I just kept going with it. Irwin, not the nails, won. I've read reviews on here about people hitting nails and it breaks. I'd be interested to know what type of nails they are hitting. For me, personally, literally drilling holes every. single. day. You can't beat Irwin.
