As long as this extension locks onto the bit like it's supposed to, this should be a great extension.

Every other quick locking extension I've used has the whole head of the extension as the lock release.Any force down on the head releases the bit.When drilling or driving through a tight space, if you catch the head on anything, your bit goes shooting out, likely into a gap or wall.This extension has a fixed head, with the lock release behind it.So if you catch in on the edge of something, or wood dust build up, you don't have to worry about your bit going shooting out into the void.Bosch must have some kind of patent on it, because I can't fathom why other companies don't design their locks the same.This extension pays for itself with the bits you don't lose in the wall with other extensions.

I have used many 12" impact rated extentions and this one is the best. I am an electrician I use this ext regularly. I am re-ordering due to tough lumber with nails breakage as I thought it was indestructible... my bad.After 1 year of hard abuse, I cannot tell you how many holes I have drilled pairing with Bosch spade bits. The release works great.I would recommend buying this for heavy (ab)use.
