If, like me, you don't have somewhere to set up a hoist permanently but you still need one that can do the job, this is the one for you. It's easy to operate, easy to set up, and I have confidence in using it. The instructions are clear on how to maintain the device. I would recommend this tool.

The hoist is very heavy and bulky. We used it to lift a cast iron keel weighs 550lb and to raise the mast on our sailboat. The ratcheting chain stop does not engage consistently under heavy load that I would not give it 5 star. Handle and chain do feel sturdy and secure enough. Good for the price and occasional use.
