Easy to install. The gasket was forgiving to the slight curve in my forward hatch. Only had it for one season so we’ll see how I holds up. It comes with a stainless cover, but I liked how the white plastic looked so I left it off.It’s nice to have constant ventilation that will run indefinitely without being a draw on the house bank. Be sure to run a marker over the labels molded into the plastic next to the switch because they can be a little hard to read when selecting fan direction.Comes with mounting screws, which would be fine for a deck installation, use bolts or shorter screws if you’re installing in a hatch like I did.

This replaced a two year old unit from West Marine that cost me well over $200 but the solar panel was covered with a plastic lens that got cataracts and turned yellow. I tried buffing it with a headlight restoration kit, but a few months later, it was back to the same yellow Cataracs again. so I took a gamble and bought this one. I am very happy with the purchase because it has a glass lens over the solar panel that will not turn yellow overtime in the hot North Carolina sun. I put this on a boat that I picked up for free, I am in the process of restoring. It seems to do the trick. I don’t smell the musty smell when I go in the boat anymore, it doesn’t feel like it moves a lot of air, but my nose, and my body tells me otherwise, when I used to go on a boat on an 80° day it would be very hot in the boat and kind of humid. Now it is pretty cool in the boat and not humid at all and that musty boat smell is completely gone. I bought two more of these to put in my other boats.

I see a lot of negative reviews about these vents. These vents are NOT meant to be used as an exhaust fan! Read the description. They are meant to move stall air from inside. It doesn't take much on exhaust. I've started using the dual power for my pet trailers. Customers love them.

installation is easy, nothing to it, quality of the actual fan/its construction seem to be great.only and the biggest problem with the loud/whinning fan motor, definitely not something to install like an area where one will be sleeping by or even sitting by. Get annoyed real quick.

Not even installed for 6 months and completely failed. Started malfunctioning 2 months ago.I spent a lot of time cutting a hole in the deck of my boat and sealing the installation and now Fan completely inoperative. Very disappointed. How do I get a refund or new fan? Update 5-10-22: DO NOT BUY THIS FAN!. Remmington Solar sent me a new battery...Still the fan is inoperative. I will search for another brand.

This was the largest vented solar fan I could find at 4 3/4". It is well designed and made with a stainless steel cowling and really large solar panels and a rechargeable battery for 24/7 operation. It was easy to install and it really moves a lot of air. Really good price too.

Instructions without images or sketches. U-tube link out of date. Fan easy to install, but odd battery layout and no images left much to imagination. Fan provides minimal air turn over.
