There are several similar, but slightly different, versions of this device and you want to get the right one. Just look at yours and look at the picture. If yours looks exactly like the picture, that's the one you need. I was surprised it came with well written instructions. It took me 5 minutes to install. I could have done it in 1, but I didn't save the mounting screws from the old one like the instructions tell you to do. On mine it's two short #10 bolts. So 4 min was spent finding the correct screws, lol. And a few seconds were spent using my wife's hairbrush handle to temporarily widen the opening the arm slips through. Remember: always use the correct tools for the job. 😁 Here's a better tip: if you find your vent is getting harder and harder to open/close, replace this part *before* it breaks (because it's gonna break). Then sit down and enjoy how easy it is to open and close.

I the middle of installing new screen and these had No screws...Had to stop and go to hardware store, so that I could get these installed. Great item, works well, but I give 3 stars because it absolutely makes no sense to sell this type of item without all the screws needed.
