Part was a direct replacement for the old ice maker. Came with a full instruction sheet and diagram.Note: You need to transfer your wiring assembly from the old unit to the new. Remove the front square cover from the old unit, and use a small screwdriver to release the wiring connector clip from the old unit. Plug wire harness back into the new unit. Reinstall ice maker into freezer.

The ice maker arrived on time. It is very easy to install, just look at some YouTube videos on how to do it. It produces ice much faster than the original one that came with my refrigerator and the ice cubes are slightly larger, which I like. It works better than the original. It solved my problem of water leaking in the ice bin.

The so-called instruction sheet is only moderately useful for troubleshooting. Fortunately there are plenty of YouTube videos on the subject. I have a lot of experience with replacing mechanical and electrical devices, so this wasn't that challenging. That said, the included bracket did not fit my freezer configuration. It could not be installed due to interference with the storage bin rail. The two remaining screws held the unit pretty tightly against the wall of the freezer, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. The plastic vane that clips onto the ice level arm did not fit. I had to modify it to get it to fit.The wire harness on my old icemaker was a perfect fit for this unit. That's good, because the unit does not come with a wire harness. Very easy to move the harness to the new icemaker. The construction is cheap, but so it the price. The water pipe guide that holds the fill pipe needed to be cutout to accept the fill pipe. I had already made the electrical connections before I noticed the icemaker would not install without removing the cutout, so I had to uninstall it completely to make the cutout, then reinstall it.As with any icemaker installation, you have to check the water level in the tray to make sure it is not overfilling. That can be a disaster in your freezer. In my case, the water level was too high, so I had to adjust the water level screw until I got the right amount of water in the tray. That is a multi-step process unless you get lucky. It took me several tries to get it properly adjusted.Despite the issues with the worthless mounting bracket, a fill pipe guide that needed to be trimmed, and getting the fill level right, the unit is working well.I would judge this installation to be pretty challenging for someone with no experience.

My old ice maker developed a water leak after 10 years of service. I ordered this item understanding it is not an OEM part. It works fine in terms that it makes ice. But I found that you have to manually lift up the arm when you want it to stop making ice, otherwise your ice deposit box will overfill.

This is a perfect fit in my whirlpool side by side. Delivery was on time. You do need the screws and wiring from the original unit; wiring easily disconnects and reconnects. I made the mistake of taking the mounting screws completely out, definitely loosen them, it’ll save you time and frustration. It was making ice within an hour of install, which is better performance than expected.

When our fridge stopped making ice, we went for several months of buying ice but that got very old. I knew just having a repair guy out to look at my issue would be more than a hundred bucks. I wasn’t sure if it was the wiring, the water valve or the ice maker itself that was wrong. I found this replacement for much less than a service call so I decided it was worth the gamble to try it. It was easy to replace but watching a YouTube video first gave me a few hints to make it go smoother. In the end my gamble payed off and we are back to making lots of ice. Good product, exact replacement. Wife is happy, so am I.

My ice maker started leaking and needed to be replaced. I tried to locate a replacement locally but had no luck. I ordered this one and I was in luck with it. First it was much cheaper than the Whirlpool which was unavailable. Second it came quick. I ordered it expecting 3 weeks and got it in a week. It fit great but as for ease of installation due to Whirlpool design that was a little more difficult. They should really make the engineers that design the refrigerator fix them so they would understand what it takes. Now the directions said it may take 24 hours to produce ice but it started after 2 hours and now I'm back in business. Be aware that this unit needs the wiring from the old ice maker.I've had it installed for awhile now and it works a little to good if that is a problem. It makes ice faster than we can use it.
