Easy Installation
This part is easy to install. Tips for replacing your ice maker:
- Turn off power and water: Unplug the refrigerator or turn off the circuit breaker, and turn off the water supply
- Remove the front cover: Use tape to secure the flipper cover on the left wall in front of the ice maker
- Remove other parts: Take off the wire harness cover and the ice maker itself
- Attach the new mounting plate: Attach the mounting plate to the new ice maker assembly
- Plug in and slide: Plug in the wire harness and slide the ice maker assembly onto the mounting rails
- Reassemble: Replace the wire harness cover and reattach the front cover
- Turn power and water back on: Restore water and electricity to the refrigerator

I installed the ice maker and it never completely froze the cube, even with the freezer set to -4. So my ice bucket keeps filling with a block of frozen water.I took it out and inspected it and reinstalled it and now it won’t make ANY ice.This is a poor brand. I would avoid it.

I bought this ice maker in October 2023. By mid December, it failed. Note it has a 1 year warranty, this will be important later. It was outside of the one month Amazon return window, so their response was to contact the manufacturer. Three different people at Amazon said the same thing. I contacted Edgewater parts and they said they couldn't issue a replacement due to it being bought through Amazon. Back and forth. I eventually found that Edgewater is the retail side of Aspen Appliance Parts. I made contact with Aspen and got a replacement. Fast forward to June 2024. The ice maker failed again. There is a wheel inside the ice maker with a small cam that lifts the arm as it's dropping the ice. Both failures showed the exact same symptom in that the arm was in the raised position. I contacted Aspen again since it's still within the 1 year warranty period. The person I talked to previously said they couldn't issue another warranty replacement since they already provided one previously. That's not exactly how warranties work, since it's still within the 1 year window. I'll keep trying. Maybe they'll see this review and WANT to help. We'll see.

The speed of delivery was very good. The installation was quite easy. 4 screws to remove the door and 3 screws and an electrical plug to remove and replace the old for the new ice marker. It's working very well. Problem solved.

Worked "OK" for 10 months. During that time, the arm would get stuck and it would stop making ice until it was bumped back down. After 10 months now the arm has seized and there is no more ice at all. Not built to last. Didn't even get a full year out of it

The ice maker was a good fit for my Whirlpool, french door refrigerator. I did have to bend my body into unnatural shapes to remove the old one and install the new one. Works like a champ now!

It installed easily and fit my fridge perfectly. About a 15 minute installation. Took a few hours to start making ice, but once it started it has been working flawlessly.

This product was a 'plug and play' replacement for the factory ice maker that died in our Whirlpool French Door refrigerator. Mounts lined up perfectly, and worked without issue after it was installed. This product did, however, fail after about 9 months of use. It began leaking water around the front of the unit behind the timer/thermostat mechanism. This resulted in large chunks of ice in the ice bin and ultimately killed the unit.I would generally give this a 2 star rating because it was a perfect fit but lasted only 9 months. What makes my review a 4 star review was working with the vendor. There was no longer an option to return via Amazon due to the time that had elapsed. I reached out to Edgewater Parts. I provided a copy of the Amazon purchase doc. They immediately honored the 1-year warranty and had a new ice maker shipped to me in a week. It is now installed and back to working beautifully. Hopefully this was just a bad product the first time around. Appreciate the quick turnaround and no-hassle honoring of the warranty.

This was a perfect replacement for our ice maker. It's clearly a newer model with more white parts compared to the brown we had. We needed to reuse the old bracket (this was expected) and it was pre wired with the same connector, but the wires were slightly longer. There was a white plastic baffle screwed into that bottom that we had to remove because of clearance, because our fridge didn't have one. Install is only 2 screws, but they are difficult to get in place. Do the bottom first then top.
