Strange in and out lapper. Does not rotate. Took a while to get a good valve job but it worked. Just need more time with it.

Lapping valves is a breeze with this kit. Well constructed and solid. Definitely is easier than spinning a wooden dowel between your 2 hands. Allows you to focus on even pressure and better valve seating for sure.

I lapped a total of 8 valves and it was easy to use once I understood how it worked better. It has a questionable build quality around some parts. Don’t recommend using a smaller air compressor. It does not spin it just acts like a piston pushing the suction cup away and to the tool.

If you are wondering exactly what it is, well, it's a pneumatic hammer, not a very good one at that. It essentially pummels the valve with a suction cup. It does not spin in any way shape or form so what happens is if something is not perfectly in round you are mashing the valve and the seat together so they are both out of round which is a problem since once you remove the valve to clean and reassemble it you will never get it back into the same spot. If it did spin and have the hammer effect it could work. Even if they did make it spin some other problems would need to be addresses such as the strength of the smaller cups (broke/ripped really easy) and the need for a trigger. All in all a failure of an idea. I like to try new things, sometimes you find something really good that will save you time. Sadly this is not one of them. Chances are if you use this you will be causing more problems.

Saved me so much time and result was awesome, valves has mirror finish and no air leaks, engine working very quiet as new. You just have to get used to it. While lapping make sure it's running at least for 30 seconds non stop, the valve start polishing when it's starts self heating from high striking rate.1st. I did valve lapping by hand, just to resurface valve seats with 80-120 grinding paste, then clean it with kerosine and paper towel2. Then I used dimond grinding paste 450, 600, 1000 (you can find this kit here at Amazon), after you done, clean valve seat with kerosine and wipe with a dry paper towels3. Start lapping with pneumatic machine for at least 30 sec non stop, so the valve seat just starts heating up. Do it for 2-5 times, until you get mirror finish.NOTE: While lapping make sure you put a fresh oil on valve leg/nec (watever it's called), so it moves up and down freely. If you use assembly lube I would add a little bit of kerosine, because it might be to thick and the valve may get stuck.Make sure you don't put any force on the pheumatic tool, let it do the job itself, otherwise you will destroy a sucktion plate. I was just adding a slight force at the end when the sound from valve just strated chaging to a lower dB, that means it started polishing. Now BAD things about this tool!!!!!!!!No spare rubber suction plates, so I had to buy hand lapping kits and use sucktion plates from there. Also it requires a high performance air connectors for air hose.
