Give it a good push with a hammer to compress the springs.
The built-in magnet design securely catches the keepers.
Install the keepers into the retainer on the valve spring. Align the installer over the retainer.
Push the installer to easily engage the keepers.

Exactly what they are suppose to do.FYI - will need a heavy hammer in order to make each strike sink deep enough to seat new valve springs.

Awesome tool prior to purchasing spent excess hours installing once I received this set installed less than 20 minutes. A must have when installing & remove valve. 5 stars tool

Was all around great except if the valve spring is stiffer than stock. It will be a little harder to compress. Wish it had a bar that goes across it so you can put more of your weight across it. But all and all real good product.

Getting the keapers off is super easy with this tool but putting them back on can be a struggle. Had to do 24 and by the end I was sore all over from trying to recompress the valve springs. Worth the money and time saved in the end though. Make sure to put something under the valve to prevent it from moving and it will make the job 10 times easier.

Taking the valve springs off...should work pretty well. I actually used a spark plug socket with a neodymium magnet tossed inside and it worked like a charm!Putting them on, however...! Jesus Christ! I had to get mad at this mf, and just hoped that I didn't bend a valve in the process.Damned near impossible to get these things reseated!I'm giving 3 stars because of the asinine videos (all over the internet) showing how easy this product is used to re-install the spring keepers.I hit this thing as hard as I could with a standard hammer and it just laughed at me.5 lb, sand hammer was next and still, I had to hit it so hard, I would have literally murdered someone if hit them that hard. That second picture is the bruise starting to show after the accidental "miss-whack"I'm going back up to 4 stars because it's the only f'ing thing that actually worked. (3rd pic, don't even attempt that awkward monstrosity)I would guess ve you a full 5 stars if there was a single video on the internet of someone struggling to use this POS.conclusion : they're all back on, and couldn't have done it without this product...busted knuckle and all. And at $55 vs. the $2500 I would have paid taking it to the shop...i would buy it again.Final thoughts : hit it like you tryin to kill it! (but watch the knuckles)
