This spring compressor works just like all the rest like it. It seems to be as well built as any other I have seen, which makes its advantage the great price.

La herramienta no es universal... estoy haciendo un 4.7 y1- herramienta demasiada alta2- patas de agarre demasiadas anchas3- a la medida que va bajando va abriendo las patas sacándolas del resorte...

Note that there are two variations and styles in this listing, I’m reviewing the universal overhead valve spring compressor style. This is a good value for a very sturdy, well made valve spring compressor that’s adjustable with a twist dial. It’s heavy duty and well constructed and nicely finished in a zinc plating, ebonized oxide finish and chromium molybdenum material. It’s rated as corrosion and oxidation resistant.Note that you must already know or understand how to use it yourself as no instructions come with it. You may want to save, print or refer to the listing details and pictures as there are some use tips there. It does not have a carrying case or pouch with it, you’ll have to provide your own.Be sure and check it is the right size and style for your engine. They state in the listing it will not work or fit deep set engine styles. It’s rated to fit valve springs up to 1 13/16 inch diameter with 1 3/8 up to 5 5/8 inch jaw openings and 5 7/8 clearances.

If this valve spring compressor isn't the exact same valve spring compressor that Harbor Freight sells for 9.99 then I'll eat my hat. I'd post a picture of the one harbor freight sells but I don't know if that would violate any IP, but they look identical, so you can just look at the pic on this one. These kind of valve spring compressors are hard on the hands. You have to crank down on each valve individually. It's a slow way to go about it, but these kinds work in a lot of scenarios, so there's that.

The tool broke on the second cylinder head during disassembly. Not even good enough to do one engine. Also was so tightly riveted together that I could hardly move the handle.

This compressor arrived on time and it was very well packaged. It seems to be constructed a very durable material and it functions very well the way it is designed to. I have never had any luck with these but I thought I would give it a go again. I have a hard time getting the tool to compress the spring enough to get the retainer to pop out. It could be user error. Also it's a good tool to have around. I recommend it if you know how to use it better then I do
