I'm not a professional cajon player by any measure, but I am an amateur basement enthusiast. I also have no previous experience with drum pedals, so I don't have a basis for comparison. That said, this pedal seems quite sturdy - it's much heavier than I expected (again, no prior experience with drum pedals...). It's a welcome addition to my cajon and lets me use both hands for the slaps, while keeping a steady rhythm with my foot. It'll take some practice for me to get my foot coordinated with my hands, but after a couple hours' use, the pedal doesn't show any sign of stopping. It seems to have about a million different possible adjustments, but so far I've easily been able to adjust the angle of the beater and the height of the pedal - all without any instructions (which would've been nice to include). Drum on!

Bello e ben costruito, unico difetto, tende a girare lateralmente. Sarebbe da migliorare l'attacco alla base del cajon magari inserendo una specie di asola sulla base, ed un dentino sull'attacco pedale, per evitare la rotazione.

I bought this recently and it seemed really cool at first but I wanted to wait a gig or two before I wrote a review, and it's good thing I did because I learned some things.First of all, I'd like to say that it's a very solid, well built product with some nice features. It's fairly heavy duty, although I wouldn't play it like a metal drummer. Some people say they've broken the cable, but I'm thinking they have really heavy feet. You don't need to stomp on the pedal, especially if you have the cajon miced like I always do. The pedal board has an adjustable angle. The cable length is also adjustable, although my cable is jammed in the adjustment collar somehow. I can't seem to loosen it. I need to work on that. The beater is soft and wide with a built in swivel that causes it to land flat on the cajon. It makes a nice, deep bass sound. The pedal comes with a drum key and some hex wrenches attached to it, which is a nice touch. Another nice touch is a velcro pad on the bottom of the pedal. If you use a rug, the pedal with stick to it like glue. The pedal has reasonably good action considering it's a cable pedal. I can't really play super fast doubles with it, but I can play just about anything I need to for the songs I'm playing. After playing a couple gigs I've learned some things about it. The first thing I learned is to really make sure the pedal is firmly attached to the mounting bracket that attaches to the cajon. At my first gig the pedal kept slipping off the bracket, which was a little annoying and embarrassing. After some experimenting with it after the gig, I found that it's best to attach the pedal to the bracket before attaching the bracket to the cajon. Now I get it all set up nice and tight and then I lower the cajon into the bracket and tighten the bracket. That seems to work.At my second gig all was going great when suddenly in the middle of the last song (which is a rocker) the cable became detached. At the time I thought I broke it, but when I got it home I realized that the nut and bolt that attach the cable to the pedal had come undone. I re-tightened them and put some Locktite compound on the bolt and nut. It seems pretty secure now, but we'll see what happens at this week's gig.Another thing you might want to keep in mind if you get one of these things is that the cable guide needs to be handled with care. That's probably true of any cable pedal. The pedal shipped with no instructions but did have some warning tags on it telling you not to carry it by the cable guide. You don't want to put a kink or a twist in that cable guide or you could ruin it. It's definitely not the kind of thing you can just throw in the back of a pickup truck. To some up, it's a really cool pedal with some nice features that is sturdy and potentially reliable, but watch out for its little quirks.UPDATE: This weekend the cable broke during normal usage at a gig. I'm downgrading my review to two stars. The cable broke in exactly the same spot that another reviewer reported, right where the cable meets the pivot link at the foot pedal. I'm not sure how I'm going to fix it, or even if it can be fixed. I've used the pedal in four gigs now and I've had showstopping problems with it on three of those gigs. I'm very disappointed.

Arrived with a broken piece that guides the cable into the pedal. Not sure what its called, but The plastic was brittle and shattered.I figured a replacement would probably show up damaged too, so I took it to a bicycle shop. They made and installed a custom, metal replacement piece for $40.00.I'm a string player- I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT DRUM PEDALS! There were no instructions, pictures or paper anything which is kinda frustrating.. But I got it put together. Then learned I should've inspected and tightened every nut and screw on the mechanism before use, because it kept falling apart.. (now I know). Now that its all put together, tightened and had the broken pieces replaced,,, It seems to be a pretty good kick pedal. The hardware seems pretty heavy-duty. The mallet sounds really good on my Pearl Big Boom Cajon.I'll keep using it and update if there's any significant issues.

A good solid piece of kit, which gives an extra dimension to playing the Cajun. I'm used to playing a full kit, and this allows for a base beat to underlay the sound. Takes a bit of getting used to, but there is no delay, and it is easy to set up and use. As it's solid, Its quite heavy, so be prepared to have to lug it around separately from the light cajun. Overall very satisfied and am preparing for live gig.
