I’m surprised that a generic brand works this well. Especially since they’re less expensive than the major brands. The pedals allow for good speed, and the action is very smooth which makes it very comfortable to play. Several people play my drums, so I need to make sure everyone is good with the action of these pedals. These are excellent for the price and are great for people just starting on playing double bass or even seasoned players. I highly recommend these pedals. I'm very happy with these pedals and did not expect to be.

A brief history of kick pedals: back in the old days 1930-40-50-60's kick pedals were very crude. It would be probably an automotive guy in his machine shop, developing better designs, daily, nightly. Then, enter the Camco pedal. Lightweight, fast, with a near perfect balance. Like a Luger pistol. But temperamental, like a Luger pistol. The 1980's came and entered in these heavy duty Iron Cobra pedals and hihat stands, and beefy hardware that could withstand the loose women, casual encounters, and aquanet hairspray that were omnipresent in that era. Then enter Yamaha. Pedals and hardware that are still state of the art. Iight, well balanced, and tough as nails. You could literally pound nails with a kick pedal all day long and come home and it would perfectly, all night long. And made in the factory that makes motorcycles. So these days, every hardware is a copy of a Yamaha, the best of both worlds. And this one is no exception. A+ highly recommended.

It works but not made of good material. It doesn’t have a good spring back so if you want to play heal toe it doesn’t react well
