zipper wont stay fastened which defeats the whole purpose of the 'encasement' - encased ? not even close.

I got a new mattress and it is much deeper than my old one, so I needed a new mattress protector. This one said it would fit up to 13" and it does. I can't speak to its' water resistance or durability since I've only had it a week or so, but it is nicely constructed and seems well made. Personally, the fact that it can be totally unzipped doesn't matter to me. I didn't have it when the new mattress arrived, so I couldn't totally unzip it and put the bottom piece down and have them put the new mattress on top. And, when I take it off to wash in the future, I don't plan on trying to remove the mattress. Therefore, it is easier for me to put it on and take it off while partially zipped.

Got this to replace an old mattress encasement that hadn’t survived several wash/dry cycles. Well, it was old. So far I like the fit. Love the fact it zips in half to remove just the top and wash it without lifting up the entire mattress. It’s a bit quieter in terms of the “plastic ruffle” sound than the previous one. Haven’t tested the waterproofness/resistance yet and hope not to anytime soon.

Purchased this after bringing home lice from work (thankfully wasn't bedbugs!). The material maintains its quality even after being washed. It does not make any noise, which is something I was concerned about. I LOVE that I can just detach the top part to wash it and leave the bottom attached. Saves my back from having to keep lifting my mattress. I have a VERY thick mattress (Serta iComfort Hybrid Observer Super Pillowtop) and also have eggshell foam on top of that (yes...princess and the pea...I know...), and this still had a little room to spare when zipped up. If you have a thinner mattress, this will mean that the cover could slip and bunch up, which I can imagine would not be so comfortable or good for the fabric of the cover, your sheets, or your mattress, so keep that in mind when considering this purchase. that's really the only negative point I have about this cover. I am thankful to have the peace of mind that if I do wind up bringing home creepy crawly hitchhikers again, I don't have to worry about losing the investment in my mattress.

This is an excellent mattress encasement with all-around zipper for removable top and easy mattress placement. It fits a 10 inch memory foam mattress with a 2 inch topper perfectly. The zipper and fabric are great quality and I am very pleased to have found this encasement - most are a sleeve that would have been difficult to use with my mattress that was shipped compressed and needed to expand on a platform surface - this one allowed the top half to be removed so that the mattress could be placed on the bottom half and the top then later zipped back on after the mattress expanded.

Very easy to put on the mattress (i didn't do it exactly like the instructions recommended but I had to do it alone and it was on the bed in about 5 minutes). I highly recommend this.
