This handrail was purchased for the purpose of safety, and for the price point it was a good purchase. However, the construction of the rail is quite poorly made. The welds showed pinholes, and sharp protruding areas. You are provided cheap black flushed head screws but the mounting plate holes are not beveled. You will never achieve the flush mounted look. It's a good thing that I am mechanically inclined so I purchased stainless steel screws to accommodate the final install. Overall it will serve its intended purpose.

i bought two of these railings. installed them over, on top of, existing wooden handrails for cement block stairs serving a porch area. the stairs were getting harder to use and the railing not as helpful as it once was when installed 15 years ago. Advancing in age, bad knees and back, meant I needed more help getting up the stairs. Wow. what a difference these railings have made for more stability for me to safely manage the stairs. I feel so much safer and secure now in climbing the stairs. Great product. Easy to install.
