This bar did exactly what we wanted. It's strong, study, & easy to nount. It functions just as we expected and as described. It looks sleek and doesn't stand out or take away from the asthetics surrounding the stairs. It is an easy install, mounting with no problems.

Sometimes a product is only as good as its weakest link; and that might be the case with this really nice handrail. This is an exceptional handrail: strong, smooth, and nicely finished (black matte). However, the wall fasteners are not consistent with the quality and strength of the rail. As I've often seen with many wall-mounted products, attachment hardware and associated anchors are not robust enough or configured to carry the load. Here, we have essentially drywall screws (provided) and plastic anchors (provided) suggesting this rail can perhaps be installed in drywall. Nothing in the instructions advises you to screw into a structural component like a wall stud. My view is that installing on simple drywall is a mistake and that any severe pressure on the rail might jar it loose. I would advise you to purchase better hardware and attach to studs. The rail wall hubs are configured and pre-drilled in such a way that only two of the four mounting holes can be fastened directly into studs that are 16-inches on center. Not doable if studs are 24-inches on center.

I have a set of stairs that go from my main level house down to the driveway. These are in the covered patio and I always felt unsteady on those stairs. I've had a few falls in the last 6 months and I have not been injured but I need to be careful. These arrived and my husband ran right out and installed these. Wow. Just wow! I wish I bought these a year ago! They look great, they are secure and they are the perfect size! I hold onto this and it gives me so much confidence.I love this stair rail and absolutely recommend it. If you think you might need this then you probably have needed it for a while now, like I did. Great value for the money, especially when compared to the price of an ER visit!

I got this for the small wall space for my split ranch stairs going down. The metal railing is strong and feels comfortable holding on and sliding your hand on the railing. It fit the wall space on the left wall. Installation was easy..It came with the screws and anchors however because of installing this basically on an area thats under staircase wall/closet without a stud on the portion of the wall. I wish it had come with longer anchors especially if you can not screw it into a stud because this will eventually fail with constant grabbing and holding on to the railing, luckily I had very long anchors and hollow dry wall anchors, so keep that in mind if you plan on installing on a non studded area. Other than that functionality is perfect for the space i need

we put this in our stairway between the garage and the house and it seems to be holding up admirably. I like that it has a slight texture which makes it more grabbable. it was easy to install given it's placement (we had a plywood backing for this particular spot, so it feels secure to hold on to. We did not use the anchors, but we did use the screws.

Super easy to install heavy duty railing. It has a thick square rod, so it might not work well with small children or people with small hands. It holds a lot of weight, and it didn't budge while I was test pulling. Good value for a solid bar. Hasn't rusted in the rain at all.

If you've ever fallen head-first down a flight of stairs that had no railing, you take extra care is choosing the right protection for your steps. This steel railing exceeded all my expectations, from its easy installation to its sturdiness. I feel ever so much safer now. What I particularly like is how well the steel is welded--you have just one solid piece bolted into the wall, eliminating shakes and wobbles you can get with other options. For me, it's sturdiness is worth every penny.

You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find the one for you and we browsed long and hard before choosing this railing. It’s a nice plain design that will fit in with most any interior and looks as good or better than the photos portray..The non-slip coating is another major advantage. This has a nice matte finish which is grippable, unlike many unpainted metal or varnished wooded rails.. you want something to grab onto and STOP if you need to and this one will do that. Slick finishes actually get hotter to the touch in the sun, as they have more contiguous surface with which you make contact. So, non-shiny, not as burny and easier to grip for the win win win black finish trifecta.A little time elapsed after receiving this before we had the time to put it in, BUT the EASY INSTALLATION made up for that REALLY FASSST. This is made of much thicker metal than I would have thought. Though not heavy, it’s pretty obvious it’s super sturdy when handling it and the fact that it’s rated for close to a quarter ton of load makes us feel very secure as kids do tend to horse around. This railing comes with fasteners AND anchors into which the screws can be inserted if you’re going into something soft, or even very hard, although we like to insure it’s installed in the strongest substrate, so if in a wall, look for a stud, or excavate and install blocking to sink this into. It hOverall, this is a great piece of hardware for the asking price and we’re ready for another one to put up elsewhere. AAA from us. Highly recommended.
