The rocks explode when introduced to enough heat. They cracked the tempered glass surrounding our table.

Worked great, I only wished the individual rocks were larger. Make sure to rinse because they come dusty (if you’re using them for a fireplace do not rinse because any water trapped in the rock will become an explosive when heated up) they also didn’t raise the ph too high, it’ll be okay for the shrimp I’m putting in it

These rocks are marketed and sold for fire pits. But DO NOT BUY! When they get hot, they pop and fly up/out of the pit! This has happened to us more than once, almost causing injuries to us and our guests. Super disappointing, outside th return window, no customer service. Find another brand.

Well….these are in fact rocks. Came in a bag….used in an aquarium….and they are doing the job.

How much can you really say about a bag of rocks? Recently built fire pit using SS drop in pan and fire ring. Unlike most, I prefer a soft blue flame and glowing of ceramic logs on a dark base. I expected rough rocks being shipped would be dusty with lots of small pieces in bottom (like potato chips). Upon opening, there was remarkably little dust and product size was consistent with what I ordered. This item filled base and covered burner ring nicely, helping tame high orange flame. Shape and surface were rough, which was exactly what I wanted from lava rock and color was consistent. Those directly in flame produce beautiful red glow. I am very pleased with this product.
